At the game on Saturday we had no idea what had happened to Benny. Just a feeling of amazement when he was subbed out. I watched the replay last night and it only confirmed what I felt at the game. Benny was the everywhere man during that game. If he doesn't come through the injury we are going to miss him more than some may think. His stats weren't huge but his grunt and attack on the ball is inspirational at times (some may call it kamikaze!).Comment

I'm not so sure the sub is a good idea. If there are doubts, he just shouldn't play. If he is close to playing in the PF then the extra week will make him a certainty for the GF and we will surely need him to lift the cup.
Problem with him as the sub is if he comes on and hurts himself again, we are down one. If we needed to sub him in early for some reason and he goes down, that would be disastrous.Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

Heard on SEN this morning from a Sydney reporter that he will be right for the GF. I doubt very much that we will take a suspect player into the GF...even as a sub.Comment

Providing we do make the Grand Final, and McGlynn does not play the prelim, dropping a player for him to come in will not be an easy decision to make.Comment

Yeah apparently another scan to make sure no inflammation of hammy on Fri and if all good he will start light running on sat and be assessed daily with a view to the prelim. Hopefully a sub in that one.Comment

I love Benny Mc. He is a unique player for us given our shortage of small genuine forwards. I really hope he can get up for the grand final if we can make it. You can see how much he wants to play for this team.
You are right about player(s) potentially being disappointed for being omitted but sadly that is the nature of the game. We have been fortunate this year, in that we have some depth and the pressure has remained on all the players to maintain their intensity to keep their place in the team.Comment
