I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time -
Passing the ball around in our forward line rather than having a go yourself has been very frustrating at times this season. I for one am pleased to see players have a go rather than lose an opportunity themselves because another player appears to be in a better position (who then gets quickly manned up on or drops the ball when it's kicked to him)Occupational hazards:
I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.Comment

The question is did Mitch have time to see Macca? Great forward play is instinctive. Was there someone open when Parker had his snap, would we have canned him if he'd missed? If it wasn't for Mitch's contribution we may well have lost the game.Comment

Gee I think some people are being harsh on Morton. I was stoked with his impact yesterday - kicked a couple of important goals, worked hard, from what I saw on Telly did pretty well in terms of applying defensive pressure.
He had a selfish moment or two perhaps, but if you wanted to sit down you could find 2 or 3 moments in every single player's performance every week in which they could of done better (whether its being a bit selfish, missing easy shots, poor disposal, falling off tackles, whatever it may be). I thought that, for Morton to come in playing in a big pressure match and to do as well as he did, that it was an excellent result for him and the team. No doubt he is a risk going into the preliminary final or grand final, but I was impressed yesterday with what he did, and also in his post match interview. It seems to me he really realises Sydney is his last hurrah chance to make it at afl level, and is desperate to take the chance with both hands."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Gee you could argue that Goodes has almost cost us a couple of games because of his selfish, cute stuff and dinky round the corner kicks to nowhere or no one. If you have played the game at any level there are split second decisions that you have to make. Morton was criticised at Richmond for trying to kick screw goals and try to do the miraculous. Sometimes players learn those traits by emmulating their heroes in the backyard as kids. If you have coached Auskick you will know what I mean. He played a terrific team game and having watched the replay this morning I was confirmed of this.Comment

I mentioned this elsewhere, but the absence of any response was somewhat disappointing. Anyway if we are looking at a like for like and the structures are all important is Cunningham the right replacement ?Comment

Heard on SEN in the past half hour that the report from the Swans is that Benny has a slight strain of the hamstring. Diagnosis is 2 to 3 weeks out unless he makes a miraculous recovery he is out for the season.Comment

Very disappointed for Benny. I love what he's added to the team since we brought him up from Hawthorn and I sincerely hope he's ok, but it doesn't sound good.
In terms of a replacement, I assume we'll go like for like, because that's what we do, which means bringing Reg in for him would only happen if we reshuffle the deck a bit. It might mean Parker starts and someone else puts the vest on.Today's a draft of your epitaphComment

So sad for Benny. May he defy all odds and make a miracle recovery. Love that kid.Superman still wears Brett Kirk PyjamasComment
