Well, now that we know it's Collingwood, there'll be a big marketing effort this week. Let's see how the build up unfolds.

Should be huge this week. It will be really disappointing if the city doesn't get behind them, but 2005 and 2006 we got some good coverage honestly. I have a lot of the papers from those years and leading into the finals we got insert specials, front page of the sports section, the radio getting involved.
We do love our winners.Comment

Seems the ticket pricing had an effect on the Crows crowd. I'd be surprised if it didn't effect the ANZ crowd. The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

I didn't think the week 2 pricing was all that different to week 1. I just think the crows fans either decided to save up for the prelim or they were gutted after the Sydney game and thought Freo would do a number on them after upsetting the cats.Comment

Here's the latest media on expected crowd figures:
NRL and AFL to go head to head
The top priced tickets for our prelim are double that of the NRL, so it's kind of hard to see how we're going to exceed the expected NRL crowd for their prelim.Comment

Don't forget though the NRL game will be between Souths and the bulldogs 2 popular Sydney teams - so I think they would always have more attend. Anyway it is what it is so let's not worry About something that none of us can control - its a waste of time and not worth the angst.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

If tickets were free, do you think that the Adelaide crowd would have been the same? I'd suggest that they would have filled the ground. So, somewhere between $0 and the actual price of the tickets was too expensive for many people to spend.
When crowds are lower than a home and away match it has to come down to ticket pricing - all other explanations are just spin - what fan does not want to see their team in the finals after all?Comment

Just got a message from one of my group - she just saw the ticket prices and at $160 per head for our normal seats at Homebush, they're watching from home or a pub. That's 5 or 6 not going and solely due to the cost of tickets. I hope they change their mind but the pricing is way off the mark for
Sydney.Comment

I echo these thoughts. If we have to pay $100 to sit a couple of bays across from our normal seats i think as fans we should be putting serious thought into doing that. You may not be undercover - you may not have the same view - but I'm sure you will have the same passion and delight in seeing your team take to the field.

They're not that into it I suppose and probably annoyed at the AFL's prices. I'm booking cheaper seats ie the $100 but that's still a lot of money for a lot of people. To me of course I think it's worth it, as long as we win. Other people have different priorities I suppose....Comment
