Crowd number for preliminary final

I agree with you Go Swannies, this has all the hallmarks of becoming a "Legend game" in Swans folklore. This will be , what, our third home PF in 15 years? The Lions one in 2003 was a ripper until we fell off in the final quarter, the Freo in 2006 was a bit flat as I never thought we'd lose.
This one is huge. Imaging beating the Pies to win a spot in the GF! It'll be as big as the Bombers in 1996. There are a handful of games that we always reminisce about. This could be our next Cats semi in club legend status. I couldn't bear to say I missed it because $100 seemed like too much for a ticket. In fact, I still fret that I didn't pay $$$ to see the Saints PF in 2005 and the Port QF in 2003.
Of course, we may lose. But, with the week off over our opponents, there's never been a better time to get this particular monochrome monkey off our backs - and I'll be smiling for a week after being there to experience it. Of course, we may lose and it'll be another long trip home with jubilant opponents - but that might happen if we get to the GF, too - and we'll be in enemy territory for that one.Comment

Especially as the Dragons got up
I also think that Friday has all the hallmarks of a classic, and its up to us in Red and White in the crowd to do our bit to ensure that it goes down in Swans fokelore and not toothless ferals fokelore as a watershed night!! A big win on Friday night would give us the belief that we could go all the way on Grand Final day. So pumped for the game already and still have 3 odd days of work to go yet

haha too true. I'm going with my nephew on Friday night and last time we went to the footy together was that final (I was ecstatic, while next to me was a 11 year old heartbroken Tigers supporter). So two years on, I'm hoping we'll both be happy on Friday instead.
Hopefully the weather won't do an about face and the wind/showers stay away. Because the gale-force winds the last time we played them were shocking at ANZ.Comment

Re: Crowd number for preliminary final
Wow, Sydneysiders do love a big event!
Anecdotally, I do have quite a few friends with more than a passing interest in the Swans, but aren't in a position to attend many games. (NOT bandwagoners/theatregoers - whenever I ask them during the H&A season, they're always too busy - some work weekend shifts.) So I guess many would look on this game as a chance to get their Swans/finals fix during the year and so would be less daunted by the priceComment
