Crowd number for preliminary final

Agree with that. I would of much preferred a platinum seat to Silver on level 1, but just couldn't justify the $160 for it, especially when I could be up for almost $400 for a grand final ticket next weekend (let alone the shuddering thought of booking flights and accomodation one week out from the main game!). I think personally the NRL has got their pricing for prelim/grand finals about right, and the AFL is well over the top.Fans aren't complete mugs. Very small sample, but most members I have spoken to have purchased silver and bronze seats.
The facts are that the tickets are overpriced - both for the seating categorisations and for the Sydney market. The AFL is investing around $120 million into GWS over the next 6 years as it sees potential. And yet for a miserly pittance has effectively neutered what could have been a true advertisement for the game in NSW.
Personally I think a premium seat was worth $100. This is what I will spend on my silver seat. The view will probably not be as grand as platinum but what the heck. I will cancel my Canberra GWS membership next year out of principle. That means I get to watch a great game and have $60 extra in my pocket. The AFL can fund its own expansion of the game. I?m sure there will still be a bucket of money from a half full stadium (and hopefully my grand final ticket too)."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

I think row 20 should be just under cover, although a strong wind from the west might drive rain into that row. My normal member's seat is row 24 (but on the western side which seems to be unavailable for the prelim final) and it is comfortably under cover - hence my original recommendation.Comment

I would be surprised if it gets to 70K (but it would be a pleasant surprise). I managed to get one extra along. A Swiss-born Aussie mate happens to be in Sydney on Friday night with nothing to do and is now coming to his first ever AFL game (and will be cheering for the Swans).70,000 is not out of the question, just wish I could make it

Good news, I'm in 108 row 30 I think. Not pleasant sitting in the drizzle, listening to Pies' fans' drivel.Comment

At least his national clothes will be in the rights colours. Likewise for Mike Pyke's Canadians.I would be surprised if it gets to 70K (but it would be a pleasant surprise).
