We ended up getting the corporate box option.

Bit over $300 each for premium seats + 3 course dinner + all you can drink.

Actually pretty good value considering how high general admission ticket prices are!

I just checked my email archives, it turns out the cheap seats were $60 and $70 in 2006 against Freo as well. The expensive tickets are 130 and 160 up from 85 and 100, though.

So maybe my fears about high prices hurting crowds are a little unfounded.

Prelim final pricing is higher than 2006 even adjusting for CPI. The platinum and gold seats must be 20% higher.

I think if west coast make it there will be minimum 50-55k in good weather and if the pies do then 60k would be par for the course.

If they tinkered with the pricing for bronze to say $40 and silver to $70 then 70,000 against the pies wouldn't be out of the question.

I mean we barely got 62,000 in 2006 vs Freo and if the AFL swallowed their pride they could've made the upper level 6 section on the cheap for that game. But then again I suppose that crowd figure was 80% of ANZ capacity and the equivalent MCG attendance would be 75-80,000 which wouldn't be bad at all for a prelim between a big Victorian club and Freo.

        Premium seat = $160
        3 course meal = $90 (being generous)
        Drinks = $50 (5 beers)

        So about $300 value.

Would be a nice experience. Do you know where you're seated and how many people are in the box?

          2006: $60.00 (budget), $70.10 (standard), $85.40 (prime), $100.70 (premium).
          2012: R'VIEW - $59.50, BRONZE - $70.00, SILVER - $99.50, GOLD - $130.00, PLATINUM - $160.00

Assuming budget = restricted viewing and standard = bronze, it looks like the cheap seats are about the same.

Sounds like a decent idea! How many people do you need in a box? Is this booked through the stadium, the AFL or the Swans? Might be an option - as you say, the food and drinks bills all add up on top of the ticket cost and can make for a pricy night, so may as well do it in style!

8 person outdoor box, sitting on level 2 on wing. Boxes there aren't as good as SCG but the beer is the same

8 person or 12 person box. Book it through Jad at the Swans.

Another nice benefit is that there are no queue's to buy food and drinks! Also don't have to much around with Ticketmaster.

The scheduling of the game on a friday night will make it very difficult for Melbourne based swans supporters to make it to the game. Myself and several others have reluctantly had to opt out because of it.

Hopefully you'll get the chance to opt-in in the following week

Heh it normally works. Its now 45g and 90g smiths chips varieties... but remember when Coke and Pepsi used to be in 500mL bottles then Pepsi went to 600mL? Coke lost such a huge share in that time.

If Collingwood make the prelim, the powers-that-be are expecting as many as 10,000 Pies supporters to show up on the night, and about 70,000 all up:

Big match, big profits: money men back Pies to pull in the fans against Swans
