If the pies are staying at the Intercontinental, maybe the cheer squad should have a chat to the hotel and ask if they can decorate the lobby and common areas in red and white...Good publicity and a nice raspberry to the pies..

      Ta Jono,
You would think a Ticketek office in the Sydney CBD would know what's going on, they didn't.
Not that many seats left tho, from what I can gather.

Yeah nah - the Intercon is a bit too up
Market to be subject to that kind of decoration as lovely as red and white is. - still goes to show that the Pies are not really the "battlers" club that they make themselves out to be. Now it would be more credible if they stayed on the Formula one at St Peters!!! And the bus driver take them to the wrong ground like hmm perhaps WINN stadium in Wollongong ????? I'm not fond of them.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

There is nothing 'battling' about Collingwood Football Club. You've only got to look at the "Lexus centre" or whatever it is called these days to know the club is rolling in money. Then of course most of that money comes from what would be classed 'battlers' - if directly through memberships, or indirectly through poker machines.

I'd be up for the sing song on Saturday morning if the Swannies get up - except I'm heading back to Canberra on Friday night. not to worry, I'm happy, with support to go for a trawl out Collingwood way in Melbourne to have a bit of a sing song if we lift the cup in about 10 days time

They would be having breakfast at cafe opera - very nice joint on the second floor at the Intercon - clue up the on duty omelette chef to warble some "cheer cheer the Red and the white " happy days!! Eddie would spew - again happy days!!!????

54 000 now. Well done Sydney - 4000 more than at the MCG.

Just heard that on 2UE - great news! Johnny Gibbs not too happy though - has implored league supporters to get out there on Saturday in bigger numbers.....

Why does everything have to be a competition between the two codes? The terrorgraph had a paragraph saying something like "League is winning" cause they had sold 4000 more tix! Crazy.......

Totally agree....driving me nuts that the media is making this out as one big competition between the two codes! Sydney is a big enough city for each code to have more than enough supporters to not 'compete' against each other!

If this game doesn't drive me to drink I'm going to be very happy - and going to a Grand Final.

Let's keep up the momentum Sydney. We've got another two days to go.

I'm expecting a crowd of 62,000 in fine weather considering the impressive ticket sales.

I must say, if this was 2003, a pies vs swans prelim would get 76,000.

I think it's good. It keeps the interest and has the game on people's minds. It will maybe convince some neutrals or non supporters to buy tickets. I think it's great for both codes, the more attendees the better!

I tried to get tickets online on Tuesday and could get nothing but Platinum. Tried 3 times, each time with the same result. So I phoned and was told that no Silver left and Bronze were all high up. Ended up having to get Gold. This game had better be good!! I think the problem was that I requested a Swans area. I suspect there are plenty of other seats available but only if you want to mix with the Madpie fans. I know it can be fun sitting among 'the enemy' especially when you are winning but I thought for this game victory would be sweeter among the true believers! Play it cool and Swannies!
