I guess the Rnd 11 clash will be a bit of a fizzer with Tippett not playing.
They may have to wait till next year, unless they are lucky enough to make the finals again!!Comment

Seems he's a touch annoyed at Tippett praising our culture, but I have never heard him knock their culture, so I don't know what his problem is.Comment

I think Kurt will be worth the investment.Comment

Hindsight is a wonderful thing in recruitment though.
Both Seaby and Bradshaws recruitment could be justified quite well at the time. Seaby was bought in at a time when we had no real ruckmen. I dont think anyone really thought mumford would be as good so quick and outside mumford we only had pyke who no one really could count on to make it. In his first six games prior to the ankle, he was easily first ruck choice.
Bradshaw was bought in at a time when hall was gone and they had no key forward. if not for injury an excellent pick up.
in hindsight not great picks but nonetheless reasonable at the timeComment

I don't know why Adelaide are so butt-hurt over Tippett coming to us in the first place.
It was clear he wanted to join us and if Adelaide hadn't played the big dick bully so to speak, they wouldn't have got themselves in the mess they did.
I haven't heard Kurt bad mouth Adelaide since he joined us so I think the Crows need to drink a cup of cement and harden the hell up.Comment

Bradshaw's six goals, including that magnificent 60 metre torpedo punt, in the game against the Lions at the SCG in 2010 show what he might have given us for a couple of years if he had not broken down through injury. Sad for both him and the Swans.Comment

People from Adelaide can't seem to understand (or accept) that others don't want to live there. They believe that EVERYONE wants to live in that oversized country town with the city skyline unobscured by high-rises (ie progress); where shops shut early ... or aren't even open on public holidays; where a local "celebrity" cannot escape scrutiny ... on the TV, in the paper or on the street, always recognizable to the footy "loving" patrons; where the cost of utilities is amongst the highest in the nation, yet the average wage is at the lower end. Yup, odd that someone after several years in the city of churches, away from his family & friends, might want a change.
Then the Crows say they invested so much time & money into developing the lad ... ignoring the fact that its his job (ergo they have to pay him) & Tippett put in the time too on the training track & the paddock. The Crows say that they were paying him good money & that greed motivated his going for what ever extra the Swans were offering him ... but what individual in their right mind would not consider a 20-odd percent pay rise to change companies? I mean, if you worked at McDonalds for $40K a year & KFC offered you $50K to do the same thing, wouldn't you consider it seriously? & those good people at West Lakes conveniently forget, when they question his loyalty, that Tippett was considering a move before his inked his LAST contract ... that's why they paid him well in his previous contract & supposedly included the clause to allow him to go to the club of his choice for a second round pick. They essentially offered him lots of money to entice him to stay for a few more years ... the Swans offered him a little more to go. & while the Crows management frequently criticize his disloyalty ... they happily ignore that every year, every club delists players to participate in the draft or offers to trade players to bolster their stocks, all too often against the players wishes. Yup, loyalty seems to be a one way street.
I would be really interested as to whether the Cats fans & players display such derision & animosity toward G.Ablett Jr?Comment

Just a couple of things. Tippett was leaving the Crows at the end of last year no matter who got involved in negotiations for his services. He made it plain he no longer wanted to play for the Crows because he did not wish to live in 'Sleepy Hollow' or "Serial Killer city' as it is now known. His preferance he said was to move back to the East coast and would not be taking offers from victorian, WA or Port seriously. The Crows presumed he was moving back to Gold Coast but Kurt was open to negotiations with Sydney (which was his preferred club all along).
van Berlo is a Perth boy and both the WA and SA clubs have had a lot of players walk out on them over the years due to homesickness or other environmental problems. He is a product of the Adelaide or Goldfish Bowl footy environment and will talk like that to get headlines and stir up the Adelaide faithful who between them might just manage to formulate one brain cell (?). I have heard of Swans fans being attacked after beating Adelaide at Footy Park, seems rather silly really as the game is over and beating someone up is not going to reverse the premiership points. Mind you I saw quite a lot of this phenomena when I lived there especially after Port Magpie games, their supporters are lobotomised and they have the scars to prove it LOL. Centrals supporters are pretty wild too.
but Nathan just one word! Premiership!Comment

Still going.
Great to see.
Great news... Tipoff ISN'T my sponsor child this year, so don't expect big things.
Previous sponsor children have included our only Norm Smith medalist; and the legend who kicked our first and last goals in the granny last year.
Mark my words... Marty will be on fire this year...Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment
