Geez if you did that on the street you'd be charged with assault!! Mumford has turned into a very thick as @@@@ type of thug who thinks it's hugely funny if he takes someone out. Be careful Mummy one day someone will fight back and you will be laughing on the other side of your stupid face. Hope I get to see it.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I agree about the macho claptrap. The Channel 7 commentary lauding Mumford's tackling (which you hear on the replay of the sling of Tippett) really infuriates me.
Mumford has to be restrained before he permanently incapacitates someone. He boasted during the week that he would "try to clean up a few blokes early" and that's just what he did. A man of his size and strength is perfectly capable of executing a legal wrap-up tackle to the advantage of his team. But he deliberately seeks to hurt the player he tackles. Despicable in my view.Comment

Sadly I believe this will be the result - just too must investment in GWS - they need to manufacture a victory.Comment

But one thing that could work against that conspiracy theory, is that they are quite likely to be playing Hawthorn in the prelim. Of course, if the AFL wanted to give credence to any conspiracy theory, that any of us fans have ever had, then they could invent a reason for delaying the GWS Tribunal decisions, until after the Hawks/Dogs match is played.Comment

As it is the anniversary of 9/11 today I was reminded of the story of the NFL commentator who was at the towers on that day and he said afterwards he would never ever talk about footballers courage on the field again as he saw the firefighters and police running into the burning buildings as he was running out.

I'm so going after Mumford.
I'm glad we got rid of him.
Sad, when you have to resort to dirty to get ahead.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Trying not to sound like a hard arse here and maybe its because I want him to play
But if he doesn't require surgery, its not displaced and he was able to play out more than half the game with the jaw and cop another hit, couldn't he be considered for this weeks game ?
Wear a helmet ? Surely an extra week isn't going to heal him significantly nor miraculously help him deal with it mentally
I cant see how next weeks game should we get there he isn't going to be faced with what he is faced with now ?Comment

More a duty of care than anything. We are fast finding out that the era of playing with broken bones and concussion was a very stupid idea. Ask any player from the tough era about their current state of minds and their wrecked bodies from bad injury management.
And Tippett is a confidence player, a 70% injured tippett is next to useless.Comment

I reckon if we never had a suitable replacement as we do currently in Nankervis then just maybe he may have played. To be honest, I think Nankervis is a step up on what Tippo has delivered the past few weeks. Pre-injury he was in AA form but has been a shadow of that since returning.Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment
