This dripfeed of the 2013 draw is very irritating.

Neil Cordy on Twitter says our home game against GWS will be at the SCG. I don't know if that's a fact or just wishful thinking.

I wonder if the ANZ contract is with the AFL or with Sydney Swans - I think the Hawthorn and Collingwood games are booked in at ANZ. I think for atmosphere, GWS v Swans at SCG makes more sense! Hopefully that means that only COLL and HAW games are our ANZ home games.

Indeed . Why does the AFL bugger about in this way ?
Is it because the AFL does not know its arse from its elbow ?
Is it a ploy to give football journalists an even spread of work in the off season ?

I was wondering the same thing. Based on what I read last night, and I can't remember where it was, the return match against the Giants is at the SCG. That would suggest the contract is with the AFL rather than the Swans.

It's far from the main reason that it's a good thing but it'll be nice for the Giants kiddies to get a run on the hallowed turf.

I've decided to burn some frequent flyer points and do the NZ trip. Flying into Auckland to see some Kiwi mates I used to work with over here and we are doing a 3-4 day boys road trip down to Wellington and a couple more heading back up. We will pretend we are 20-something again. Can't wait to take in NZ's best food, wine, natural beauty, culture (?) and Wellington's dawn service. All in red and white.

I doubt anything will be arranged until early next year - in the meantime we can go ahead a book flights!!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I'd like to see us play GWS at the SCG. I don't think they'd mind given all the travelling they've done this year!

The ANZ contract is with the AFL directly who in turn decides who we play and when at the stadium (with input from us of course).

Makes sense that we are going to play the GWS at the SCG next year, will mean we can start the year with the derby and unfurl the flag at home as well. Will some of the new stand be ready?

The three games required for the ANZ stadium deal will be Pies, Hawks and GWS away later in the year.

The new stand at the SCG will be ready in January 2014.

Well the rumoured game against North in Hobart is definitely not in Rd 2 - North play Geelong @ Etihad in Rd 2

DST the opening game against GWS is the away game at ANZ, not at Home at the SCG. So a good chance there wil be another game in there at ANZ somewhere.

Gee I'm over the drip feeding of the draw - roll on October 31 for the full draw to finally be out.

Glad I didn't book flights even though they were on sale. Was really looking forward to linking a trip to Tasmania into a trip to NZ with a Swan'e game at each destination.
