It's a big 'if' ... but if Jurrah's off-field issues could be resolved, he is clearly the most talented player in that list ... reckon he's got a bit of Micky O and a bit of Goodesy in him and could easily become a great 3 to 6 year player for us?

The talent is undoubted, but my impression from earlier newspaper discussion is that for his own sake he needs to be closer to his family setting, so Port and Adelaide would be the frontrunners. I suspect that we might not be able to provide what he needs.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Unfortunately, 3 to 6 years is something he may be looking at elsewhere, away from footy. Would be a great story if he turned his life around in Sydney, but it probably is a bridge too far away....

Adelaide have already ruled out Jurrah, reckon Port may take a chance (on no jail time) as it could be a big win for almost no outlay, just a rookie spot.

They have forgotten 66 as well as 47 and we don't have 85. They now show Brandon Jack at 103 followed by Curran and Lienert. Would think young Jack would be more of a chance on the Rookie list. It looks like they think we need to load up on tallish forwards as they first 4 selections.

All the machine does is collate the desires of those who play it.

Doesn't help when they have picks allocated to the wrong clubs, I thought they could have at least got that correct to start with.

Brandon Jack would only be appearing because lots of us are nominating him, the more that nominate him the higher up our picking order he will go I assume. We could always try a little naughtiness and get him up to pick 23!

Now notice that Tanner Smith has come from nowhere to now be our pick 23, would be a good choice from what I see and read.

Amazingly Brandon Jack has leapt up the orderto 67! Think he is only a rookie chance in reality, I hope he is given a go.

There are no jibs at the Swans thank you.

I want Colquhoun from the draft. Love the look of the bloke. Clean, good kick, good decision maker and will slot right into our backline for years to come.
LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

We should be able to get a high quality player with our pick 22/23. With Tippett nearly certain to come to the Swans I don't think we will be going for a FF with the first pick. These are my favourites:

First round (One of these is nearly certain to be available):

Kristian Jaksch: Exception to the rule about FF, but can play back and forward. But very unlikely to get through to our pick.
Membrey: ROK type forward, but will probably go before our pick
Jesse Lonergan:Midfielder with all the tools. Would be too good to pass up if available.
                            Tom Clurey: Replacement for Richards
Nathan Wright: Another good all around player.

                            Picks 45 and 47:
Running defender with good skills (Mattner, Malceski type): Mathew Dick, Jackson Thrulow, Tim Broomhead, Brodie Murdoch
Tall defender, unless we get Clurey in round 1, for which there will be several possiblities. Otherwise best available player, but preferably KPP.
A good player, like a Luke Parker, usually slip and can be a good pick up at this stage in the draft.

Not sure if we take both of our picks in the 60s, but it would be a good opportunity to take a bit of a risk here.
Brad Hartman and Immanual Irra (from Uganda) might be worth a shot. Another ruckman is possible if we take both picks.

I doubt that Brandon Jack will be picked in the ND, which would make him available to us to simply add to our rookie list. I would like to see this done.

I'd be extremely happy if either Jaksch or Membrey are available at our first pick but I'm certain that talent will already be off the table.

Our recent draft record says that our Recruiting people puts the skill of kicking efficiency very high on their skill requirement for a prospect. Gary Rohan won this skill at the Draft Combine in 2009 and Jed Lamb won it in 2010.......so look out for Laine Wilkins, Rory Atkins and Josh Simpson who all tied in the test. Laine Wilkins tied for the 'clean hands' skills too so he looks a good prospect.

I'll keep a special eye out for Spencer White who topped the running vertical jump at 100...only just behind the record of 102 held by Nic Nat and Jarrad Brennan. If you watch the video on this guy you'd swear it was a young Lance Franklin, only he's a better kick. He is a left footer but runs in to kick without the big arc. The question on this guy is will he be disciplined enough for the AFL....work ethic....team ethic........hhhmmm sounds familiar when the same was said on Lance Franklin at the draft.

On paper Kristian Jaksch seems like he could be a potential A. Goodes replacement in time, but we would be lucky for him to still be there at 23.

On Kevin Sheehan's top 30 list of draft picks (20 so far) on F oxTel, only 2 mentions for the Swans; a versatile tall forward Tim O'Brien whom he suggests could be mentored by A. Goodes, and Nick Graham who says he models his game on Luke Parker's. Seeing as we already have Luke Parker and also Mitchell waiting in the wings, Nick may be better off elsewhere.

Tom Clurey as a tall defender would be great too - it will be exciting to see who we end up with. I am so glad we still have our first round pick.
