Did you not read that a group of senior players (led by Watson and Hille) tried to stop and were told by the club in no uncertain terms that they had to? Really don't see how you can whack the players. Why don't you go and have a beer with that wanker Mark Mcveigh. When is he going to apologise to the public and to Kyle Reimers? His response was absolutely typical of the Bullyboy playground mentality which is so prevalent in Australian sport....exemplified by Lillee and Marsh and their systematic humiliation of Kim Hughes.

Notice how one of Demetriou's key points was that "whistleblowers will be protected."

      Re: Hope not.....

I do feel for the majority of footballers that are doing the right thing. They are being tarnished with the same brush simply because the ACC made blanket statements without any detail what so ever.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Agreed the AFL has been negligent on performance enhancing drugs (and gambling).

This morning in the Hun the story of how Aker questioned how a player who previously couldn't keep up with was all of a sudden dashing away from him, has been brought up again. Players, the media and the public admonished him and called him a big mouth who should just shut up, fade away and rid our world of his rubbish statements. That was 2007; when was it that the same was said of Dale Lewis? More than a little substance in what they said perhaps!

Cousins comes to mind in his comeback game against us in Sydney. Ran all day and had an enormous number of possessions. Surely the eyebrows were raised at headquarters.

His Brownlow season was full of such efforts.

Given the dirth of facts coming forward, I am now of the view this was grandstanding by a few ministers trying to get in the media

What did I say before? Waiting for the other shoe to drop? Just hope and pray it doesn't involve the Swans. But will someone please drop the other shoe? Its time. I am not going to hiss&boo until I have unassailable fact, but I am getting antsy.

The only clubs reported as under investigation by ACC is GC Gee & Ess

That unfortunately means nothing to ASADA.

It's just because they can't release details while the investigations are ongoing due to how the ACC's coercive powers work. They've gone public now hoping to scare offenders into turning informant.

Gossip from where? The media is competing for the big scoop so they will grab hold of any possible whisper. No mention of anyone except Ess, GC, Geel and Bris.

                              I don't buy it for a second

If there are facts put them out there or say nothing

It couldn't possibly be innuendo...if they don't have concrete to back this up they are all Dodo meat, professionally....so if they say "whole teams were doped" then they have concrete evidence of this.

The reason for not giving any specifics is that they want other people to come forward on the promise of decreased penalty.
