Reid has virtually uncontested mark , drops it and the ball goes the length of the ground.

Hate this game now. They are too quick for us tonight.

          Craziness...

Geelong have had all the love from the umpires, and they've had all the luck tonight too. Swans will be lucky not to be blown away tonight.

They are much much too good for us tonight. Umpiring has been just diabolical but they are playing slingshot and coming out of defence and going coast to coast way way too easily.

I think the loss of shaw has been massive but the way the game is u,pired to encourage speed is not helping. Jpk, rok, mcv, all struggling to go with their man.

The umpire might have killed us when the game was even, but we've made our bed and are laying in it. Defensive work-rate from the get go has been poor, coaching from the box in order to stop the Geel halfback line has been poor, our midfield's two-way accountability has been poor not to mention this team looks bereft of structure and leadership. It's a sad sight to see a young Hanners bandaged up looking like the only competent one there.

              A bad night. Let's hope it's not a drubbing.

Poor discipline. Any chance McGlynn shutting his gob. Mummy playing dumb footy. Armstrong is soft, has poor disposal and must be dropped. He creates a huge hole in our backline. Parker struggling. Midfield not flash. Slaughtered out of the guts, again.

tonight shows we have some improving to do to go back to back! LRT loss is huge for the season if it's a bad one!

Essentially we have lost 3 of our core backline and it shows.

I think it is a drubbing already.

To be honest we've played as well tonight as we have all season. We've got a long long way to go.

The fact is that we rely on our midfield to kick goals. When they are being held, as they are tonight by very good Geelong mids, our scoring capacity declines rapidly. You can't expect them to do everything. The loss of LRT and Shaw and Johnson has hurt our backline and the umpiring tonight is woeful.

It hasn't been a bad effort, but Geelong are a classy team. No shame in being beaten by them... Hopefully Tippett will prove to be a good buy and our mids will be under less pressure.

Pyke is a fantastic mark. Needs confidence to kick ... beyond his set shots for goal. Maybe Pyke & Tippet as twin marking towers deep in the forward line, either changing in ruck with Mummy. Or Pyke as a tall marking defender. I reckon all 3 will fit in the side when the time comes ... 3 mobile talls

Sam Reid is very disappointing. Are we overrating him?
