They simply evened out the frees in the second half...in no advantage situations to Sydney....unlike the nonsense 50 and the string of earlier goals from frees to the dopes in advantageous situations...

+ appalling errors under pressure (6 goals)

      + unbelievable umpiring (4 goals)

+ incredibly unlucky bounces (2 goals)

Complete inability to lay tackles...even having tackles broken (at least 10)

Something is wrong with our all over the ground defence....the whole point of a zone is that you are suppose to block THE VERY NEXT POSSESSION!!!! How many times did they waltz around with a chain of 6 or 7 uncontested possessions?

      Same problem against Adelaide (SF)
      Same problem against Hawthorne (GF)
Same problem against GWS (Rd 1)
Same problem against GC (Rd 2)
Even worse problem against North (Rd 3)

Makes me want to SPEW UP!

We are absolute pretenders until we
      1) MAN the ***** Up
      2) Stop making stupid errors
      3) Stop giving away stupid free kicks....because that always leads to
      4) Umpires gifting each opposition team 4 goals a game from umpire errors
      5) Man the ******* Up and
      6) Tag players like Joel Selwood PROPERLY

Very disappointed with Morton's game. He had an entire second half to get into the game but didn't. I'm a huge fan of his and have been hanging out to watch him play again.

Plus I agree with everyone else's sentiments "What's up with Jetta??"
I might have a slight drinking problem. My husband asked me to toast some bread for him...so I raised my wine glass and said "Here's to bread!"

Hanners and Jack were very good. Macca far from our worst. Defence was Jekyll and Hyde. Great impression by JPK of Ablett's kick to Ben Cousins in the '05 GF. Sam Reid still has a problem marking , even uncontested. Either he has an undiagnosed problem with his eyes (remember how Barry Hall had such a problem) , or he is a typical un-coordinated ectomorph.
The former can be fixed quite quickly , the latter will take time.
Anyway , we lost to a better team . I am not at all surprised by the loss - I expected it - but the season is a marathon , not a sprint. Longmire will work it all out and there is no reason to be too worried just yet.

Not all that upset about the game. Sometimes the ball just doesn't bounce your way. Geelong are great at milking frees. I think the Swans got a bit disillusioned how they just couldn't get a break.

The loss is disappointing, but we did show, at least in the first half, that we can really play we'll.
Not having been at the game it is difficult to know what was happening with him but clearly teams are playing goal side of him at the ball. The reality was that we were very pressured around the ball and looked to go straight up the line with pressured kicks. Makes it hard for a wingman to be involved. Further they very rarely went around the wing in attack so he can hardly be blamed for their attacks which came straight through the centre of the field.

The truth is that we were very very poor at keeping the ball inside fifty tonight - too many times we tried to tap the ball to another player and they burst onto it and went straight through the corridor.

Jetta is along with jack is our only real option to break a line from midfield, and teams are sitting on him with no shaw coming out either.

The effort to reduce the margin was important, but I think the 6 goal third quarter was reflective of the difference. I am not sure I'd be dropping anyone on the strength of that one game, but the match committee need to look at a bit of freshening up generally.

I agree with a previous poster that White would be a better option than Reid at the moment

There's no doubt he'll be a gun, just servilely lacking confidence atm.

I don\t think kicking 10 in the reserves would hurt him.

White has played almost exclusively as a ruckman this year (as he did for most of last). He's playing the role well, but I don't think there has been anything in his performances to suggest anything will be different if he is plonked in the forward line in the senior team.

For me, Jetta's lack of activity is far more significant than Reid's form, and until this is worked out, we won't get back to our best. He looks like he has gone into his shell, playing tentatively, as he did in 2011. Hopefully the coaches (and Jetta) will find a way sooner rather than later to snap him back to his 2012 form.

I never thought I would see a post like this, I can only half heartedly agree. I think Geelongs tall defenders are probably hte best in the game and Sam still has a lot of work to do yo match them

When I see players like Motlop getting the ball, taking players on and breaking free with pace, I wonder why Jetta is not doing the same. He is simply not running. I can't imagine the coaches instructing him to be as stagnant as possible. It seems like his role in the team is to lull the opposition to sleep. He is not in any way shape or form the player he was last year. He's got to be dropped until he get's his mojo back.

Not having the Jetta from last year is a huge loss for us. Now we've lost our 2 fastest players, Rohan and Jetta.

Just remember Jetta's last few rounds of the H & A last year were average too, then he exploded again in the finals.

Might see a big change next week?
That 3rd quarter was a killer, pity we couldn't match the Cats. It'll be a good kick up the bum side though, however I didn't really think we'd need it considering 95% of that team had experienced Geelong before.
Rampe impressed me, Armstrong not so much. He wasn't the worst though.
Really concerned about Jetta, he's lost his sparkle. Reidy doesn't bother me much at all, I am used to it and just think he needs more time.

McVeigh, Pyke, Richards, Mattner and Grundy kept us in it! Smooch was good too. Really really really missing AJ and would love a Tippett right about now

Yeah, but how does he develop the skills needed to play against the big boys of the AFL when slaughtering the kids of the NEAFL?
LRT took a while to develop but they just kept playing him til he found his feet

some slightly positive news....reported on twitter that no ligament damage suspected for LRT but rather injury to he joint. Not sure what that means for time frame out though.
