I'd have thought a realistic "Port Narrowly Defeats Mostly Swans Reserves Side (Given Extensive Injury List)" would've been more a more appropriate headline ... but then I don't write write for the Adelaide Sadvertiser or Sunday Fail.

I'd be embarrassed living in Adelaide even if the headline read "SWANS ROBBED BY DUD UMPS"

That Cats result has me feeling a lot better.

I am embarrassed to read these posts on RWO. We come off as a bunch of sore losers. We got beaten, our boys were no good on the day. We know they can be better.
Hopefully they realise this and remember how good they can be when we play another decent team in the Blies

Yep. Injuries or umpires no excuse. More than likely a different result on a dry track, but you have to play to the conditions.

At the game I thought White worked damn hard and made plenty of contests and moved the ball on for others. None of our big men took marks. I watched that Bird kick when White had got clear. I thought it looked weak and indecisive. It could have been a replay of Tippets first goal. Grundy had a shocker. Incompetent on the day. Port had so much more motivation and their players got out in front alone for 3 quarters. I guess it was one too many defenders gone injured for the usual systems to work. Later when we did rebound there was nobody to run onto the ball. No doubt we'll come back stronger.

That's right. At some point injuries will reach a critical mass. Saying they are never a reason for a loss is akin to saying that the Swans can run out with half the team replaced by drunk RWO posters but that can't be used as an excuse not to win.

These things in football just $^$^% me off sometimes. What's the bet that when Port play Hawthorn, it will be a perfect sunny day with no significant injury toll, and Hawthorn get a serious percentage boost with little trouble. I know it can't he helped, but that's where luck weighs in. We already need to constantly overcome questionable umpiring, because Sydney don't fit into the 'ideal' winners list each week for the AFL - just like the GF.

We at least need Reid, Jetta, Mummy and Everitt back. Then I would be surprised if we lost another game all season.

Well that's the first thing that has made me smile in regards to that game since Saturday!

This is a quote from the new player rankings article on the AFL website:

Rampe was rated in Sydney?s top-three players for the second time on the trot. He gathered 16 disposals at 88 per cent efficiency, had the second-most metres gained for the Swans and was also credited with eight intercepts.

Rampe just gets better every game. Even if Rhyce comes good, I don't think he's moving Rampe out of the seniors. More likely to play a defensive midfield/forward role.

I have noticed that Rampe is slowly becoming a more attacking player as he gains confidence. His kicking is a real weapon.

Well, I'm still cranky and I will never understand how a team that played so well 2 weeks ago couldn't play well again. Lets face it, last Sat was a shocking game of footy. The big Adelaide win was only 2 weeks ago, how could things change that much. I get really annoyed with pathetic excuses eg that Port 'wanted it more', WTF - sorry boys, you have a pretty good life and you're paid very well to go out and play, so don't bring some precious attitude! Most of us in the real world have to work long hours, for a lot less $$$ than you.
