Restricted free agent, he has to out-price himself so that the original club can't afford him, so it can be in the best interest of the new club to trade, so that player payment won't become a bidding war, blowing out the salary cap

But Buddy would almost certainly go to GWS only if it were for a money offer too good to refuse. So the bidding war side of things becomes a bit irrelevant.

In any case, with GWS almost certain to have the first pick in the PSD, they could just use that pick - just as they could use that pick if they wanted Mumford and he wanted to leave us (and he's not a free agent of any description).

Sam Reid I think could become an all Australian CHB. Think his kicking or goal will always trouble him. He did well in the GF last year when he went back. Has the height and pace to be a damaging running half back like Roos was. Given that Boyd would be handy. If Mummy wants to go I would consider a package deal for him to GWS. GWS need a ruck man badly. If he wants to stay happy with that as well.

Trade Tippett to GWS for No 1, and Keep Mummy, etc. (We may also get a good player thrown in as part of the deal..)

This will free up our TPP $ to keep Joey, Parker, Mitchell etc..

But hey, I saw Last Stand, the recent Arnie movie and thought it was pretty good so my credibility possibly isn't worth much

I thought The Last Stand was pretty good - very entertaining. That's all you hope for when you watch an Arnie movie. Arnie plays his role effectively, like a Swans player. Would love to see Arnie in a Swans geurnsey.

If you're going to derail a thread, at least get your facts straight. The Last Stand wasn't an 'Arnie' movie. It was a Kim Jee-Woon movie. I cannot recommend his other films highly enough. Particularly The Good, The Bad And The Weird as well as A Tale Of Two Sisters and A Bittersweet Life. It a testament to his film making skills, that his first Hollywood feature was entertaining despite haing Arnine and Johnny Knoxville in it.

I don't reckon we'll trade Mummy.
