Yes there are but they don't start early enough to get you in time for the start of the ressies game if that's your goal. You'll have to get to Lidcombe station, walk over to the Olympic Park sprint platform and take a train from there.

Your train from Chatswood may well go right thru to Lidcombe so you would likely not need to change at Central.

Smooch will not play on Elliot I think Rampe will get Elliot, he got him last time and did the job. Smooch will get Blair who can be a real terror.

Rampe will be required to play on one of their three tall forwards. Elliott is Collingwood's best forward half defensive player and so they will try to engineer a McVeigh or Malecski matchup

are there trains from Central Station to the game?

              Thanks in advance
You might want to check out the special bus routes out there, there is one that goes down Fullers Road, I guess it goes through Chatswood somewhere just before that. Not sure when they run from.

Same thing goes for those buses you won't get there in time for the start of the ressies.

Both good points! I always find match-ups the hardest to figure out, but Blair's definitely someone who needs to be watched closely.

When I come to Sydney, I stay in Chatswood. The special event buses are a better option IMHO. Except on Friday nights.

You want Route 1A. This map shows where you can get on. Transport included in the price of your ticket.

Thanks guys, that's gold. The 1A bus route is about a kilometre walk from where I'm staying and looks to get me there in time to see more than a quarter of the ressies. Or I can (sort of) direct train it from Chatswood to see all the ressies. Better go and buy a footy ticket now!

My host is not a sports person and supposedly has a bad cough but I think he's faking it so I don't drag him along to the game! Think he hasn't got over the shock of seeing grown people dressed in orange at the inaugural GWS - Swans game last year :-)

Agree wholeheartedly with these comments. Getting a winning streak against the pies is the next best thing to winning a premiership.

So what does Everitt do Ugg stand around twiddling his thumbs. He has got the third tall and done a good job in recent weeks. Yes Rampe might have to mind the third tall while Everitt has a rest but for the most part I think Dre will get the third tall and Dane Elliot. In the last game if you watch it Dane plays on Elliot and he only gets in the play a couple of times. Once a very good mark under great pressure and the other a lead nobody could have stopped. Mal and Macca don't need to be playing a completely defensive role as the would have to on Elliot, they are attacking defenders. What's more Elliot is too strong in the air for both of them.

The North Shore trains go all the way to Strathfield. If you are going to see the Twos then get off at Strathfield and then get a train to Lidcombe. Get off at Lidcombe and get an Olympic Park train, it has it's own platform. if you get a train that has come from Hornsby via Gordon it will go to Lidcombe but the via MacQuarie Park only goes as far as Strathfield and then does the North Western line, Hornsby via Epping.

special buses don't run until after 4.30-5pm and the Twos start at 4pm.

They won't get to see much of the resies as the buses start too late. buses start at 5pm I think and resies start at 4pm. by the time they get there the resies will be virtually finished.

My money is on Everitt filling in the whole as the loose man in defence or the "plus one" depending on your vernacular. And FWIW, McVeigh played on Elliott in Round 9.

I was thinking the same; we need to try to block the space in front of goal that would give Cloke and Reid easy shots. They're not great goal kickers and their efficiency drops off a lot if forced to kicked on acute angles. Dre may also may be required to pick up Grundy if he goes forward.
