Outplayed in the 2nd half. They forced us into poor disposal and for whatever reason we decided tonight to over possess. The number of times we tried a chain of handpasses that were not on and handballed to a player in a poor position drove me nuts. I am sure people at the game were yelling to kick the bloody thing. Collingwood cleared the ball from our forward line far too easily. We got absolutely slaughtered out of the middle particularly after half time. They worked us over with short kicks and we were mostly a long way behind our man.

Thought Smith had about his worst game and McGlynn clearly was miles short of a run. Kennedy seems to be struggling a bit. My observation is that Parker struggles against the better sides. His disposal was scrappy and got caught too often because of lack of leg speed and the need to stop and prop/bulk/finesse, call iot what you like. On leg speed: we seemed really slow through the midfield which to me was partly because we stuffed around with it through the midfiled instead of moving it quickly by foot.

They really did a number on our midfield. I don't think Kizza has experienced such a hard tag he was his worst output in years. Kennedy has been down for weeks though but hasn't been notes as we've been winning and the midfield as a group has been great. Usually in a situation like this we like to throw Goodes in the mix but we don't have that luxury any more. McVeigh was tried there late but he had no support. McGlynn had no impact and will be under pressure. It's a shame Lamb didn't play in the reserves today to stake his claim for a recall

I think it actually is because we are slow. We have a lot of one paced high endurance runners. But not many burst into space types. From the ten minute mark when they started to hit leading players we looked miles off them and were tailed off too often.

Plus their pressure on the ball meant they knocked down a lot of hand passes which meant we couldn't get it going forwards. And when we did get it forwards through rushed kicks we were too tall, and with bird, Parker, Jude and an out of touch McGlynn forwards we looked slow there and second to the ball.

we did appear very slow but that was because we didnt win the ball and execute from the pack with clean hands

we have clearly illustrated week in week out that as long as we win the ball it doesnt matter how slow we are

Kennedy, PArks, Mitchell, ROK, Birdy etc etc without doubt a lot slower then other midfields and the compliment of Jetts was the major difference in a lot of games last year "once we won the inside ball"

a great kick in the pants leading into the last 3 games !!

Macca and Tippett can hold their heads high. The rest... enough said!

Teddy was good too but IMO Cloke outplayed him (even if his goal kicking said otherwise). Wait a sec, he was on Cloke wasn't he or was I imagining things again?

Morton was injured (well pretty sure he is since he said at the half-time break).

Me too. Ugly. I hate going out there to get beaten by the pies. I think we were just tired, their midfield out ran ours, wanted it more. If they play like that next week and Cloke spends the week in auskick learning how to score from 10 m, they might ruffle some other feathers

I must have been watching a different game, Teddy was great on Cloke who has monstered us in the past but really didn't get anything much tonight. Yes he missed a sitter in the last but he also was the beneficiary of a lenient push in the back non-call for his first goal. Teddy also had to cover many times for his fellow defenders and he wasn't a happy man at the end, letting his teammates know about it.

Cloke didn't dominate him as much in the past even if he had kicked all the sitters he missed. That non-free was insane and Teddy definitely gets kudos for covering the defenders part since the rest of them were being dominated (kind of like Macca trying his hardest to cover them and the missing midfield at times).

ETA: I should add that I had a whopping headache at the game tonight, so my train of thought probably wouldn't be a spot on in terms of incidents and I'll probably be able to list some more tidbits but at the moment bed it is! I do however agree with the comments about Hanners hair. Someone better get him to shave it all damn off.

Boy oh boy we were awful tonight and I hate losing to the pies. Now must beat one of Hawthorn or Geelong to stay top 4. I hate ANZ stadium it is a rubbish venue, and I agree with the Hannabery hair comments.

Excuse the expression but piss off. Macca gave the ball up 2 out of every three times. He got plenty but stuffed up as often as not. Longmire fell for the press. I thought he was too smart for that but obviously not. They also copied what Cats did to us by keeping a lot of defenders deep to pick off the spoils when wee bombed as we always do. Longmire for some unknown reason doesn't know how to counter this. We had all of our players in their forward half for most of the match so it made it hard to clear the defence. Sucked in Johnny!!You idiot!!I was awake to it in the second quarter and to the long bombing to the forwards being used to attack why weren't you?

Disgraceful performance by the mids even though most of the time Kizza was being held and Joey has had to put up with that all year. A few umpiring decisions at crucial times did not help us at all but against Pies you always have to play against them and the Umpies. Our forwards were very loose tonight and the mids also let their opponents get too much distance. Not about being faster just smarter and really giving a @@@@. Mummy tried to give out mids the advantage time and again and too many times they fumbled or handballed to opposition players. By the way I think he and Pykie were shafted by the umpies tonight there should have been at least 15 more ruck infringements as that asshole kept pushing in the back and getting away with it.

Ok, our worst game for the year and Collingwood's best. We looked top heavy tonight particulary against a side that has a lot of small to medium runners. I think we got our answer as far as playing all of Everitt, White, Pyke, Mumford and Tippett in the one side come the finals. We need at least one more running player down back (Shaw will get better as he gets more game time) and certainly a running player to replace White or Everitt (boy did we miss you tonight Jetts!). Collingwood did their homework on us as we always send numbers to the ball to extract it by handball.....they made it a contest and pushed the ball out to some skilfull players just out side of the pack. They were cleaner than us and that was a recipe for a midfield thrashing. There were many Swans poor under pressure making poor decisions and poor skill errors. Unfortunately, it was a costly wakeup call. We need to beat either Cats or Hawks to keep our top 4 and I do also think we need to take the risk and rest some sore/tired bodies this week. Enter one Gary Rohan for St Kilda.

We will not finish top 4 as I do not believe we will beat either of Hawthorn or Geelong. I have done the ladder predictor several times and Richmond could easily finish 4th.

Jesus Christ. So you've given up have you and thrown in the towel for the Geelong and Hawthorn games?

I am so glad this team shows more spine and fight than some of the so-called supporters.
