Seriously, the two premierships we won most recently we went in to the finals as underdogs & each Grand Final as the sentimental underdog. If we used the "give up coz we're not a genuine chance" approach we'd still be waiting for the elusive flag after 80 years! ANYTHING can happen on any given day. That's why there are upsets.
Why not save the pessimistic, self-flagellating posts until after we lose ... or better still leave it out all together!
While we still have a pulse in the 2013 final series the Swans have my unwavering devotion & support ... when our season is finally over, no matter how or when it ends, the Swans will have my respect, admiration and thanks.

One week at a time, lets just concentrate on winning at home this week.

Neil Cordy reporting on the Herald Sun website that Goodes is training the house down and the headline says he'll play against Carlton. Horse says he's not "another tall" but a genuine ground level player.

Precisely you'd take a chance on Goodes'y but noone else, Biggs Lamb Morton Jack in contention if Jetta pulled up ok leave him in

You honestly think the players have given up? The Coaches? The Club is built on not giving up. If we crawl to the GF and get spanked so what? At least we had a crack. The GF door is only open so often. Even if its only slightly ajar or even worse, beginning to close, you still try and push it open.

It they aren't good enough they will get beat. No need to death ride them.
              This....

Some people just don't get it. Whilst you are still in the finals you are potential premiers. You fight tooth and nail to stay alive play the next week. As a fan, you have the right to expect that your team will win regardless of what is thrown up against your team and regardless of what the experts think. If you can't stand the heat of the finals, invest in a Gardening Australia boxed set and spend the weekend watching that...

I agree but I think the pessimism is more due the fact we are crippled with injury. We are still in it and realistically I always thought we were a long shot to win on Friday night, Freo winning has possibly made it more difficult but it is the injuries that are the real issue, if not for that I would truly believe we were a chance. Having said that I am backing our team to bounce back on Saturday, lets do hat first.

If this is directed at my comment you couldnt be more off the mark.

For me its premiership or bust. NO one remembers who came 3rrd or 4th. As such you play the finals series like you are there for the full 4 weeks.

U may be confusing the two attitudes. Players play one week at a time. Selectors play multiple weeks ahead.

Where did you get - I just looked online and they were still flogging off the overpriced in-the-corner seats (eg 412).

Got my tickets... Level 4 - Section 411.
                                Eastern side... yayyyyy. Game on!!

Pity you can't pick where you want to sit. I would have preferred our "normal" seats, but beggars can't be choosers.

Just hope the swannies come to play this week and that they remember they have to pass/kick to someone else wearing red & white.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
