haha. sorry but even Melbourne where I am aint the best place in the world or Australia. I'm still looking for it, I think it's somewhere quiet in Tassie. Horses for courses as they say.

I heard Mitch's interview too. I thought the journo was trying to find holes in our COLA payments. I laughed when Mitch said it should be 20% and the journo suddenly went silent.
Do you think the timing is right to ask the AFL for an increase?!!

I was a bit surprised that Mitch said something like "I don't know how they (the Swans) allocate it (the COLA) .......". Well if it is clearly specified in his contract as an add-on allowance, as it should be, then he ought to know. Hope there is no problem with the way the contracts are written but think it is most unlikely given the controversy in the past on this topic.

Managers read contracts...players just look at the numbers and sign.....

Melbourne have said that they would trade their pick two for two or three hard midfielders who have been in the system for a couple of years but still have a 8 - 10 years to go.

Does anyone think that we need to move on some midfielders ie Bird and Jed Lamb?

TWR reporting that Mumford will go to GWS on a 3 year deal. The pick is between 19 and 35.

I came in on the tail end of the talk and I would have thought that we could have done better than that.

Seems the Giants can offer whatever they want otherwise he can go in the PSD and get nothing.

I would think the only way that they can squeeze more out of this deal is to offer a package deal with another player or pick to up the offer.

Possibly our Pick 14 for their Pick 9.
Nothing like a good light bulb moment.

I don't think we had a lot of bargaining power there.

That's a lower pick than I'd have hoped for but they had us over a barrel and we knew it. It may restore some lost goodwill over the Franklin move.

I also assume the trade is conditional on the AFL accepting the Franklin move.

So I know the article alludes to a trade, but given he can walk straight in via the PSD, is there any hope of a draft pick?

Guess it depends on whether they want to play hard ball or establish an early rep as fair traders. (Which may be an issue given they'll have young players leaving over next few years to return home, with Adams and Sheils this year).

                              Our only hope really.

If it really is 19 and 35, lower than you'd usually hope for but not bad given he could go for zip. Guessing GWS is conscious of the two way karma on these things.

At this stage I'm just happy to get anything.

The PSD is a realistic threat, unless there are other clubs seriously looking for rucks.
