I don't believe it, partly because I don't want him. And if it happens, it will all end in tears.
The last time I said that was when Brisbane appointed Voss as coach.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I was interested that Neil Cordy's article says that the Swans have yet to make an offer to Mummy.

That said, 'out of sight, out of mind' means that people can tend to underrate how tall our forward-line will naturally skew once everyone's back on board in 2014. Reid, KT, Goodes all up there before we even start to think about a resting ruck or Jesse. That's big.

It is a tricky time for 'traditional' 2nd rucks right now, because the majority of teams will not play 2 like the Swans have been willing to do with Mumford and Pyke. Clubs need a ready-to-play 2nd ruck; they can't rely on a first or second year draftee to fill the void if their main man goes down (Brodie Grundy has been the exception to the rule). But unless that 2nd ruck can also play as a legitimate forward, they won't pick them while the 1st ruck remains fit. There's a lot of underemployed mature rucks cooling their heels in state league comps right now. Hence Dan Currie, who was picked up in the 2006 national draft, and who everyone agrees is AFL standard (he even just signed with North Melbourne until the end of 2015 after other clubs were reportedly circling, looking to snaffle him up), is still awaiting his AFL debut!
Simon, there wasn't a team in the top 4 that didn't play two ruckman. Hawks; Bayley & Hale, Dockers; Sandilands & Clarke, Cats; Bliclavs & Vardy. If you like we might like to look at the other teams in the top eight as well. so if you want be successful it looks like you play 2 ruckmen Simon.

Maybe Franklin is coming to the Swans to play as a full time midfielder, leaving Tippett, Reid and Goodes in the forward line! Parker and Kennedy would be the inside ball extractors, Jack, Franklin, McVeigh, Hananbury and Rohan would play inside then burst into space!

To top it off Jetta would be on the end of some handballs and kicks into space! What a midfield?

Buddy could win two brownlow medals playing as a midfielder!

I'm with you on this. I'm sure it's all a silly furphy anyway, and I wouldn't think the Swans were silly enough to seriously entertain the move.

Buddy will be at GWS tomorrow and we can forget all this silly talk (fingers crossed).

I think that we are paying GWS back for when they stirred the pot with Tippett. They made us sweat and so now we are doing the same to them. Buddy will be at GWS but we are just giving back what we received from them.

I bet there would be no umpiring latitude for Swan Buddy's arc.

I personally hope we do get him...I cant see a downside to it...geodesy's knee is a legimate concern and buddy would easily replace his current role in that he is mobile and athletic..
Which defensive unit would have the manpower to cover KT, Reid, Buddy plus our smalls and drifting midfielders.....Buddy has only about 4 years left in him...GWS wont be making a premiership tilt for at least 6 years.....KT can play second ruck...Pyke is 29, Naismith can still develop while all this takes place

Short answer no. He is out of contract and can negotiate with anyone. The season has ended and he is now fair game. We might get some compensation but that is about all.

I've just been listening to trade radio...Nathan Brown going on about the COLA, suggesting the Swans, at their discretion, spend the extra 900K, where ever they like...?? ie on Tippett

So Andrew Ireland must be a liar then...He has repeatedly stated all players get an extra 9.8% on their contracts....It's not saved up.

I'm happy to here debate about it.... but based on the facts would be a good start.

Peanuts like Brown simply shouldn't get a gig. Debate the COLA all you want but at least understand it first and then make some considered comments. They just think 'good side the Swans, must be the COLA'. Before we won the flag in 2012, we were apparently a bunch of battlers - now we've got superstars everywhere.

I know there has been separate threads on COLA but since it has come up so much in the last few days re where can we get the money for Tippett and now an offer to Buddy can someone clear something up for me. I understand we put forward a case to say Sydney 15% more expensive than Melbourne and we got a 9.7% allowance. I was also on the understanding that this money was spread across all players and the AFL reviewed where the money went so no chance to stash away for a rainy day (or big name player payment). I'm I correct with all details?

Would be a real coup - could slot straight into Grundy's spot. Apparently has nailed the full back for Jerusalem position. That would stick it up the Saints as well as Eddie.

Haven't we pretty much locked in our midfield for the next few years? If so, the Franklin move would be genius.

Well I just went on their show and put it to them that Andrew Ireland, has said repeatedly the money is shared around.

                                They seemed unaware of this.

Now I'm hearing the Swans have sent them an email...They have now retracted their rubbish.
