I wouldn't care less if this deal doesn't go through.

Picks 1 and 4? Does that mean Patton to the Dogs for pick 4 is a done deal (or likely)? Seems odd that they would trade pick 1 and Patton. With no Buddy, that means their tall forward line would be just Cameron, compared to Cameron-Patton-Boyd-Buddy that people thought it might be a week ago. And while Fyfe is a fine player and could become an absolute top liner for many many years, he doesn't bring a Buddy type profile / persona. On his own, is he going to make that much difference to the Giants?
I also doubt that Fyfe would have much interest in going to the Giants given he's at a club that could win a premiership next year.Comment

WilliamLaserPine: "Apparently the AFL HQ is livid that he has gone to the Swans. They had planned for him to go to GWS and thus boost their supporter base. So the worse thing happens and he's gone to the Swans. They thought that the AFL might try to do something by means of the contract length to force the Swans into either having to trade picks/players so that every one in Melbourne sees it as being more fair."
If so, it shows how far the VFL has become lost up its own fundament. Not understanding its own rules. Micromanaging a fabricated league in its desired image orbiting around Star Victoria

If Hawks match the Buddy offer they can't then trade him away. Buddy stays and the 9 year deal contract is on the Hawk books.Comment

Hawks can't/won't match it.
We'll get buddy for F.R.E.E.

No one can force him to go to GWS unless the AFL do something out of the ordinary and offer him a significant amount of money on top of what GWS will give him to go there. That still might not be enough though.Comment

This article about Lamb makes me feel optimistic he'll stay and the general feeling among players is ok about Buddy coming.

For some reason, reply with quote isn't working for me.
But Holy F*$&ing Cr$& - read the article from Rebecca Wilson.
Everything I feel summed up in one magnificent article.
A MUST READ for any Swans fan, even if just to nod and smile while reading it!

i tend to find richards articles not reflective of me as a Swans Supporter......
i think Andrew Ireland explains hot topics and contentious matters much more clearly and Ireland certainly provides much greater context !
