[QUOTE=Ajn;630299]Of course when you're talking elite, it's hard to tell at this stage in a player's career, but I think you're off on this one. Acres is the highest rated WA player by those who see him play regularly. Even ahead of Dom Sheed. He missed a lot of the season due to a shoulder reco, otherwise I think he would be top 10. Taylor may be a bit short, but he's been compared to Boomer Harvey, who is undoubtedly elite. He seems to have all the tools; how far he goes is hard to say. I wouldn't rank either of these below anyone in the draft except for Boyd. Marsh is a raw talent and the hardest to judge. He's been played out of his usual midfield position because he grew too tall. But his speed and athleticism certainly gives him an honest chance to becoming a top shelf footballer.
I'm sure Lobb is an excellent ruck prospect, but it's very rare that they come out of the state league or junior footy and step right up to AFL level. Brody Grundy was a bit of an exception, but was much higher rated than Lobb. And hard to say how he would have held up under the rigours of a full season. And he didn't come on until late in the season after some time learning his trade in the Pies' reserves. Top 10 pick Billy Longer could hardly break into the Brissy lineup after 2 seasons. It's possible that Lobb can step up next season, but it would be quite optimistic. Lobb is being touted in part because of the mediocrity of he ruck prospects this year. I don't see any of them being worth more than a pick 35.
I think the Swans' strategy of trading for an experienced ruckman or developing them through the rookie system has served us well over the years.
