True but I think this year he seems to be out of sorts. He doesn't seem to have to rhythm of the game, he always had that. His second efforts are not as good and he seems to have lost a yard. I think probably he, ROK & Shaw have all played one year too many. We should have been looking to replace all three after all the injuries last year and the fact ROK was obviously slowing down. That was obvious in the finals. LRT is playing at about 3/4 LRT and that is probably not enough in my opinion.

i think Marsh if playing HBF could easily make Seniors in a couple of years..........and there is no reason why Rampe could not bit by bit be pushed into run with role in the midfield........look at the Freo midfield for big strong midfielders dominating
Marsh he has been thrown a massive challenge for developing the engine in the mids - it would be testing his character and cardio
lets not forget how Bolton and Macca looked just so so in their first 3 or 4 years at the Swans - Kennedy was very ordinary at the Hawks in his 3 or 4 seasons
Marsh has really only had one pre season and half a season if that due to injury in his first year at the Swans
too early to call in my opinion"be tough, only when it gets tough"

I'm pretty happy with those changes... seem pretty sensible to me, and I'm very happy to see Lloyd get a shot at the big time. He will be a star for us in time I feel!
Sad to see ROK dropped, but you can't say its not warranted on form"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Derrickx is a big lad, and hopefully he can crash in to the opposing ruckman. I doubt he will get many (any) taps, but hopefully he can reduce the tap accuracy of his opponent.
When he goes forward, hopefully he can continue to crash packs. BJ got a number of goals from front and centre's last year and hopefully he can get a few on the weekend.Comment

The way we are playing at the moment, the coaches need some flexibility (Grundy playing forward last week) when things are not working. With Goodes out, LRT is the most experienced flexible player in the team.Comment

my guess is that Lloyd will get more game time then BJ
BJ Sub
If Lloyd has a solid game this week an hannes or Jetta doesnt ........hhhhmmmm next weeks teams could be interesting"be tough, only when it gets tough"

?Tommy Mitchell?s had a crook ankle for a couple of weeks, so he goes out of the team,? Longmire said.
It's the kid's third season on the list. Second playing actual footy. And we rate him highly enough to risk him injured? Wow.
Edit: and they've played Rohan knowing he might not be able to run out games. Jeez.
Rohan has been sub last two games, and subbed the one before so the question on his fitness is warranted. Give him a full game in the reserves and see how he goes.Comment

I'm happy to see Jack getting another go, but find it odd that he gets a game ahead of Towers, given Towers has been so close to selection, and Jack appears to have done little in the 2's this year.
This selection will probably be sub.
Given Horses reverence of Lloyds running and endurance, surely he won't be the sub??? Or will irony strike.
I also think playing Derrickx, against this lot, is a waste of time...He won't handle the pressure.
Would of loved to see Membrey get a run, just for something new, something less predictable, another possible avenue to goal. He could of been our version of Chris Mayne.
Regardless of selections, the 2 main plusses are....It's going to be dry, and we'll be rank underdogs....I'm feeling more comfortable already.
Anyway, what really matters is a full on, nothing to loose, run yourself into the ground, fight to the death, attitude....for 4 quarters.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

Lloyd can play outside or inside but my guess is that he may have a run with role"be tough, only when it gets tough"

Based on who has been omitted, I would think Lloyd will start and BJ will be the sub.
Interesting how little comment (ie none) there has been on ROK's omission. IMO this is a more significant dropping than the one he received prior to Rd 1, as it suggests that he hasn't worked his way back into sufficient form to warrant inclusion. It's probably the right call but it's sad nonetheless.Today's a draft of your epitaphComment

against a Sewell, Lewis, Hodge etc ROK in 2012 was a great matchup and may have been in rd 1 2014 if we played the hawks ???
2013 he still appeared strong until the last 6 or so games where he lost in some of his matchups to spread or keep super tight to his opponent
a few of us argued that he was under pressure for 2014 given matchups and given his leg speed dropping significantly in the NAB cup games
long season ahead though and no reason why some extra sprint training couldnt help to find that extra yard in pace"be tough, only when it gets tough"

The match last week was built for him. Lot's of hard contested ball in the middle - yet he was not put on the ball for all of the game. When he was there, he was not effective.
Barring injuries, I can't see him getting back in.Comment
