As I was saying, pretty shabby several times. Booing Adam, cheering when umpire injured (looked serious for a while), booing Dan for what was a total accident.

I will be very upset if Hannebery is penalised. I was a big supporter of Viney's suspension being overturned - and the Hannebery clash was much less an intentional bump than Viney's

Did someone say our intensity was inconsistent? I don't know what more you could want. We won by 50 points, we flogged them all game and they constantly turned it over through our sheer pressure. Was as comprehensive a win as you could get.
Me. Can you really say tonights match was at the same consistent intensity as the Freo game? The lead surely has a bit to do with it, but I can't put the two games close. As for the margin, we were leading be 36 points at 1/4 time. I'm very happy with 50 points, but I was expecting a bigger margin after the first quarter result.

On Derickx, he was was much better than normal tonight, but that is coming off a very low base. No issue with effort, just his skill level is not that great. I can't agree with the comparisons with Mummy.

Tom competes better than we thought he could but he still got smashed where it counts for a ruckman.

Amazing what crowds will boo. At the Crows game they were booing Buddy.

Pretty much the perfect match for the Swans. A win on the road, fifth in a row, a big boost to percentage, immaculate goalkicking, everyone contributing. Kennedy and Parker were just awesome. I'm loving Derrickx - not hugely talented but big heart and plays his role well. Lloyd's going to very hard for Mitchell to displace.

Yep "best i've seen all year by a fair way" and at the end "they were very good!" Great praise from Bomber.

              "Outstanding"?
              49:32 hit outs Essendon
              12 disposals
              4 frees against Derickx
At least one clanger ... will have to check tomorrow's stats
Derickx played his role well, but "outstanding"? What superlatives would you use to describe tonight's performances from Buddy, Luke Parker, Joey, Birdy, Hanners, and Kieran Jack in comparison to Tom's "outstanding" effort tonight?

I think we have room for improvement. Last weeks game would have taken a big effort and a week off should do us some good for the cats game.

TD was solid and is improving. WE didn't need to put the foot down after 1/4 time and we coasted to victory.

Both Mal and Hanners will face media feeding time till Monday, when common sense will prevail. "accidental contact and head was over the ball"

Enough to indicate our season is nearly back on track and we will be tall poppies very soon when everyone will be hunting Swans. Hopefully none can catch up!

Exactly where does it count these days?

                  Here's my take on Tom.
Thought he was average until last week.
Against the Hawks he was great.
                  Tonight he was better.

he is growing as a player, and I've never really seen why so many are happy to label him as being 'average with no real future' (or words to that effect)
I look forward to Pyke having to win back his role towards the end of the season

I want to say that I thought we were in a containing mode in the last quarter. We did nothing more than contain their forward movement and stifle their young fast mids & HF's. I didn't think we were about winning big. I thought we just contained them and hurt them on the rebound. Players like Parker, Kizza, Lloyd, Hannas, Joey & Birdie really hurt them tonight. Why? Because they fought like the bloody devil for every ball.

Thought Bomber Thompson was well over AFl tonight.

Started when he was lounging around leaning back in his seat in the bocx.
The the press conference was very telling.

Definitely filling a role until Hird returns.
have to winder if the Bombers have made the correct call in elevating him.
No doubt in my mind that if Hird doesn't return for whatever reason, that the Bombers will be looking for a new coach other then Thompson...

Hitouts to advantage. All the other stuff is fluff but that's his primary job which he still fails dismally at. Put a good tap ruckman in our team at the moment and we'd never lose a game.

Derickx has done an admirable job as a fill in ruckman. He contests well, but is still aimless in his ruckwork, is not at all clean in his ball handling, and gives away needless free kicks. He is not a number one ruckman on any team. He's received a lot of praise mainly because so little is expected of him.

There is no doubt that Pyke should replace Tom if fit.

                              so was Jolly vs Pyke

However these days it would be unlikely to play both with so many other talls around.

Just saying that Tom has shown a bit for me.
Not just doing ok in the ruck, but around the ground which is what he has been criticised for...

Thought Judes comments were funny wen the commentators asked him how he'd seen Hanners' game.
Jude said something like "yeah he hasn't been bad. He's only had 21 possessions"
This was half way through the third quarter...

                                Not bad indeed...
