Not football related but Gerard should not wear that shirt again as it reflects the lights and is hard to watch as it 'flickers'.

        OMFG.
When did people start hating Goodesy? At the game last Friday, every time he touched the ball, the crowd went boo.
        WTF is that all about?

        Please explain.
There are some like brereton who go on in the media that Goodes is a dirty player. There is still a massive undercurrent of racism with many clubs. S&don, collingwood and Norff being the leaders

National embarrassment S&don involved in the Dreamtime game. Very racist supporters. They are the worst in the comp

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

              What the?

He's been booed for years down here. That what happens when you are a champion. Though i can't remember the last time I booed.... each to their own.

Whilst we all know he's not, he hasn't helped his cause, and has done his share of flopping also.

Put the racism card away. Great players get booed all the time. I don't boo but you'd struggle to find a game in Melbourne where a player doesn't get booed.

It does seem to come out a little quick, i mean these are the same supporters who are cheering on Patty Ryder and Carved from Stone Majak Daw.

I don?t believe that Victorian Clubs or any AFL Football Clubs are racist. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People make an incredible contribution to AFL Football. Every Club I?m sure have Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander players on their lists.

Every club has some despicable fans that are racist. On the train back from the Collingwood Homebush game a Swans fan made a wise crack about a Swans player that had his wife, his kids and half the carriage silent in shock.

The key is not to let a few despicable people cloud the whole AFL game.

I agree - whilst a small number of AFL fans could be called racist, all clubs and the league in general have done great things over the last 10-20 years especially to help change people's perceptions. Lots of great work is being done in the community in this regard, with both indigenous Australians and newly-arrived people.

I think previous posts have got this one spot on - Goodsey is seen by some fans as a 'protected species' (I hate that term) due to some of the agendas being pushed in the media by some. I also find it outrageous that he is somehow to blame for the ugly scenes in last year's Collingwood game. There's also more than a tinge of jealousy in some of the booing too I reckon.......

That'd be 90% of it I reckon. That guy has caused nightmares for opposition clubs for 15 years.

Be great if we could P46.

Sure great players get booed,... when they are kicking for goal or if they got a soft free kick or if they did something untoward, but each and every time they touch the ball, and no matter who they play against in Melbourne. I've heard Goodes get booed when he gets his first possession in a game. Disgusting!!
