Everitt the only one we lost who is showing any consistency, and he's no superstar.
Not the nightmare offseason that some thought it was.Comment

Spot on.... This is the best result to keep all sides of the argument happy, will also mean that from 2017 supporters of other clubs (myself included) will rank the Swans on par with other teams and in turn earn much more respect for there achievements (Which do date have only a little to do with the extra cash and more to do with recycling players better than any other club as well as the ability to find Gems late in drafts - Luke Parker a prime example)Carn the Southern Power.....Comment

Fact remains we have lost more players to salary cap pressure than any other club and I expect it To return
Darren Gaspar
Adam hueskes
Shannon grant
Anthony rocca
Simon Garlick
( Ross Lyon and tony mcguiness)
Paul Licuria
Jed lamb
Andrews Everitt
Adam Schneider
Sean dempster
Jesse white
Shane Mumford
To name but some
Hueskes was delisted for bad behaviour and all of the Players you lost last year are due to signing the two best Key Forward in the league to 20% of your cap for long periods.
Shannon Grant and Anthony Rocca sighted homesickness as there reasons for leaving.
Salary Cap Squeeze affects all clubs - Swans have benefitted more than been affected, you have Gained in your current best 22 Ben McGlynn, Josh Kennedy, Ted Richards, Jeremy Laidler and Rhyce Shaw from clubs that couldn't afford to keep these guns.Carn the Southern Power.....Comment

Nevertheless, players such as Mumford, White, Lamb and Everitt were all squeezed out of the club due to salary cap pressure, thats how it works. You can't keep them all.
And best you not let facts get in the way of your post. The fact is Ben McGlynn, Josh Kennedy, Ted Richards, Jeremy Laidler and Rhyce Shaw all left their clubs due to lack of opportunity, not due to wanting more money. They might be guns now (jury is still out on Laidler) but were certainly not at the time they came to Sydney.Comment

i distinctly remember Swans Management saying we dont use 5 to 8% of the cap anyway in years gone past because we could NOT afford to financially
but if we could have afforded to financially that would have been two significant extra players in years gone past"be tough, only when it gets tough"

You can bet that if we win the premiership it will be labelled 'tainted' because the COLA. That's all we will hear about until the end of the season. The only thing than can save us is ASADA.
GC and GWS will be in the sights of the Melbourne establishment soon enough. They just want to return to the VFL days.Comment

Oh come on, pull the other one with those examples. Laidler couldn't get a game at Carlton (jury is still out at the Swans). Teddy couldn't get a game at the Bombers, Rhyce Shaw was on the nose at Collingwood, Kennedy was stuck in a midfield traffic jam at the Hawks, and McGlynn was fringe 22.
When they were traded, none could hardly be called 'guns', and really with the exception of Kennedy (who most thought would be a great player at Hawthorn), everyone else has been improved substantially whilst at the Swans. The Swans have shown themselves to be right up there in terms of finding players not getting opportunities at other clubs and turning them into high quality players. Its only now, that the swans have gone and bought a couple of big names (which to me suggests astute cap management more than rorting 'cola'), that anyone is whining about it. We wouldn't be hearing a peep about the Swans buying Tippett or Buddy if we were a mid-table, mediocre team.

I got so mad when I saw this article on the back of the Herald Sun. I thought here we go again!
The nerve of Gordon to whinge when the bulldogs are one of the clubs receiving money from the afl for equalisation.
One pleasing part is that some of the comments I read were supportive of the swans and they weren't from swans supporters.Comment
