Yep, two great pieces of news. The Northern States forming a block - Pridham no longer having to fight alone, and McLaughlin finally showing a bit of leadership. Interesting that he spoke up while on a visit to GWS. Maybe he had to get out of his Melbourne cocoon and into the wilds of the north to realise the impact Eddie's attacks were having and the concern his rants were causing.

and a public endorsement of Buddy being good for footy in Sydney helps too. Hopefully that's the end of it.

I'm not as confident as you lot. Why is the bidding system even under review? A change to the bidding system is a win for Ed.

Why can't they just tell him to piss off?

It was already under review. He's been trying to influence the review.

It is understandable that McLachlan says it should stop. It is also the fact that lies repeated over a period of time are considered the truth. It is soo funny the bit about Sydney executive needing all the help they can get. Our success is based on many things, one of them is the ability and performance of the executive.

I guess news travels slowly from the west of Sydney. What a dick.

I agree with DA too, a change to the bidding process would be a win for McGuire.

Good move by Maxwell - the Pies might be looking for a replacement executive reasonably soon....

Gee he couldn't even keep his mouth shut long enough and be respectful to his retiring premiership captain.

Eddie if we needed any help you wouldn't be whining about us every second.

I get a bit miffed when I keep reading how much good Eddie has done for the game.

The way I see it the game has done a lot of good for Eddie. He's made a career( and lots of money) out of the game.

He's done a lot of good for Collingwood (often at the expense of other clubs), no question, but commentary on his legacy so far, should leave it at that.

Its maybe too much of a coincidence that of the "other payments" totalling $2.18 million, $1.2 million is the payment due to us and all clubs from the TV rights deal. The balance of this is $980k. Is this the COLA payment? I don't know. If it is, then we have received nothing from the league for payments from prizemoney, distribution of the AFL?s signage rights at Etihad Stadium and promotional funding. Not likely, so I'm not sure where the COLA payment is. My guess is its not included in these payments as its not a payment to the club, but a payment to the player.
