I have looked through the financial document (I'm financially illiterate ) and it makes fascinating reading. Where does the COLA payment come in? It would account for approx $895,000 for our players.

Interesting. I made a graph. Black vertical line is the median of total payments, i.e. half the clubs are above that level, half are lower.

        Wow, very, VERY interesting!
Can someone who knows more about these things tell me why Collingwood, the perceived richest club in the land gets money from HO?

I think it's great, just please don't call us "expansion clubs". I don't think it's fair to us and certainly isn't fair to our South Melbourne heritage.

Agree, I much prefer the term Northern States.

IIRC, there are two kinds of handouts, one being one-off payments, presumably for things like refurbishing the clubrooms, and the other more like recurring payments.

But I think the system works a bit like federal-state financial relations. NSW contributes the most but also gets quite a bit back in various forms.

What the table rerminds us is that the AFL is a big mama pig and every club is suckling from it.

And the pattern seems to be that the Victorian clubs are sucking harder than any club outside those borders.

                    Oh Eddie.
                    It's time to change feet.
Open your mouth and say something stupid again.
                    It's very entertaining.

I said a few days ago on FB, if Eddie put all the energy he's using to try and derail us, into HIS football club, they would be on the top of the table.

                    Sucked in dirtbag.

Keep bagging us... I'm pretty sure that my boys are using your words as MOTIVATION to win the granny this year.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Sorry, I'm in sales. Can you do some of these with animation so that they can hold my attention, please?

I'd agree. A not-too-subtle 'no more discussing these issues in public forums' from the boss is pretty much the outcome that Pridham would have aiming for - completely nullifies Eddie's advantage in any real debate.

A public endorsement of the Academy system doesn't hurt either!
