Eddie's a very powerful bloke and if you're a working journo like Robbo you cross him at your own risk. So not only did he call this absolutely right but he's the only one of the 800 or so accredited AFL hacks to have the guts to make those points.

A couple of weeks back Robbo said it was time the goons who are booing Goodes to cut it out. The bloke has an excellent BS detector.

Anger that we we had the audacity to win in 2012, but to then steal their hero god in Buddy - well they were full of anger.

I have no time for any of them.
I have a bad feeling that should we win on Saturday, we will see more of the same. Hopefully it will be helped that both sets of fans won't be going out at the same time and there are so many corporates/neutrals. But what I saw at Rd 18 was quite upsetting - especially as it upset my better half, who I'm still working hard to get really interested in the game and excited about going to games. The tirade we heard on the way out, including the faceful of expletives one complete random hawthorn fan aimed at us, was pretty disgusting. As you say, it really felt like anger.

A great part of our game is that in general, fans of opposing sides in 99% of cases can do support their teams without making it personal. Obviously some Hawks fans that night really struggle with this idea.

We can expect more blustering from McGuire over the coming week, as he attempts to deflect attention away from his Wobbling Wobbles.

They look like a club in a downward spiral at present.

If they try and block Beams, who wants to return home to his sick father, IMO, that would be a big mistake. They would appear desperate and heartless...

It would turn a club exuding a mild odour, into one that would be seen as on the nose.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

I would love to see Fat Boy have Beams pinched by Brisbane. The last club he targeted on an allowance gets a star from the Pies. How delicious.

His stinking rotten club is collapsing under him and he'll have no one to blame on this one.
'Delicious' is a fun word to say

I coped a pretty ugly spray on my way to work in North Sydney this morning, all because I dared wear my scarf
I ended up responding with "What hurts more-that Buddy dumped you or that you were too blind to see what Kennedy & McGlynn had to offer"

I don't mind the actual team but the supporters are awful-not all obviously just the vocal ones

The problem is people are taking eddie's dribble as gospel and not stopping to look at the facts. They are using it as a justification to hate the Swans for their hard earned success, I've had people presenting the "facts" to me on FB as to why the Swans are a bunch of cheats and should be punished, when presented with the actual facts they go quiet, then just start up with eddie's rubbish again. If you say something often enough and loudly enough it must be true.
I really hope someone in authority pulls eddie's leash in because I am well and truly over his petty pathetic tantrum

For most its pure jealousy. For anyone with anything approaching a reasonable amount of brain cells, they can see that COLA is just one part of it, and a small one at that. But most tend to believe big mouth eddie and whatever black and white vomit comes out of his mouth!

As much as I hate McGuire and his BS, it's true that it has become somewhat accepted as 'reality' by the more moronic non-Swans fans that I've met.

On the odd occasion that I've copped abuse, I normally start by reminding them that our ruckman is a Canadian rugby union player and that the whole competition thought it was a joke .. until he won a premiership! That usually takes the wind out of their sails pretty quickly.

I have said this before but the misconception is that we have used COLA to just pay Buddy and Tippett and that is where most of the unrest comes from. It doesn't matter how many times it is explained that the COLA is spread over all players because Eddie and co just open their mouths again and speak untruths.

It's good to see that some in the media are standing up to Eddie.

Hawthorn supporters have been obnoxious for years. they have a very large % of shockers compared to other clubs. For whatever reason they have to get into the face of opposition supporters.

The other day on SEN, Pridham made the comment that the total COLA paid to both Buddy and Kurt COMBINED in 2014 was $30k. Hardly an amount that would be instrumental in getting them to the Swans. Mind you, on their contracts they probably dont need that extra anyway, but that is another argument.

I've just read an article on Andrew Ireland. I had no Idea that Ireland played 75 VFL games for Collingwood between 1975 - 1980.

I'm disgusted that Eddie continues to criticise and throw accusations at our administration when it's led by a former prominent Magpies player. I thought Eddie respected Magpies for life. Andrew gave everything he had as a player for the Magpies and Eddie does not respect him for his commitment to the Pies.

Disgraceful lack of respect Eddie. Your lost me son.

I wouldn't be surprised if Eddie hates Andrew's guts. Andrew Ireland was an overwhelming influence on the success of Brisbane until Eddie successfully had their COLA pulled. Now he's copping it again from Andrew in Sydney. I'd imagine Black & White only runs as deep in Eddie's veins as much as it suits Eddie.
