Yes. We're all just having a bit of a laugh because there's no Swans game this the week. Eddie's left town, so we're all having a crack at each other.

              We all love you Danzar.

Hey, don't get me wrong, the way the thread turned is funny; even Barry's follow up. I actually do have a headache

I'll steer it slightly back towards Eddie. I don't believe anyone has mentioned the Richmond leadership group imposing their own ban on speaking to MMM this weekend. To me, this is the most effective type of response. It's from the players themselves, who make it perfectly clear where they stand, it affects the media outlet that has chosen not to sanction those at fault, and it lets the supporters of the Tigers know where the players feel, potentially putting them at odds with some of the Eddie apologists among their supporter base. I know that Caro is a Richmond supporter, but she doesn't wear that overtly and I know that Richmond fans are not cut from the same cloth as fans of some other Melbourne clubs*, but it's still a significant statement in my view.

                  * - Note that I'm only referring to Melbourne clubs as that is where this incident occurred and where those involved are based.

I am sure Caro doesnt need to show her alliance to the tigers as everyone who knows about footy knows about her family and the tigers.

But good on them and about time players started to make a stance.

Times are a changing quick fast and it seems that a lot of blokes are being dragged kicking and screaming into the future. The 70s-90s mindset is over, there is no more sports nights where tales of misogyny were all the rage, thats over and it should be retired along with Sam Newman. The new generation of players are the ones who are going to lead the way with all the changes.

I think the only reason they took this commendable action us because chins isn't their best player. What would they have done if Dusty had done something derogatory towards a woman... oh, hang on.

Going back 20 or so years, my recollections were Collingwood and Footscray supporters as being the worst - back when games were at their old local ovals.
These days it largely depends where you sit as to what exposure you have to the riff raff.

Anywhere at Vic Park in opposition colours was dangerous. (edit) In fact anywhere within a mile or so of the ground was life threatening.

Went to Vic Park many times and had no problems with the tattoed and toothless. Carlton was by far the worst. Holier than thou attitude, silver spoon in the mouth attitude. There was a lot of violence there. I think a fan got king hit and died at the ground. Nevr had any problems at the Western Oval but Windy Hill was feral.Going to the dunny after a game in Swans colours was not a smart move.

I'm trying to come up with some reason the AFL might need Eddie, but I'm at a loss. All the functions he serves are negative ones. Perhaps the AFL's speechwriter in charge of hollow excuses would lose her job.

And Eddie doesn't really need the AFL, except a an ego inflater, but even that's not working well lately. He still has loads of business interests outside the AFL. He could even retire, he's a multi-millionaire. He could be a retired fat old rich man, (just like me, except for the rich part).

Back in the early 70's, my then best mate and I (we were like 12!) went to Victoria Park to watch Collingwood V Melbourne, he was an Bomber fan and me South Melbourne, of course. I can't exactly remember why we ended up at this game, but we found ourselves in among solid throes of Pie fans and we were barracking for Melbourne It was an interesting day indeed, lots of dark looks coming our way, return cheek from us two silly (and apparently stupid!)teens, and lots of adrenaline, culminating with us being threatened by an elderly Pie fan and her handbag! I think the Pies won, which is why I am alive today to tell this story.
