Eddie has been getting worse as Collingwood has started to slide. He made an error of judgement IMO booting out Malthouse because he's in love with Buckley and it's turned into a nighmare for him.

Eddie sees the writing on the wall, Collingwood are in decline with little hope of moving back up in the next few years whilst the Swans look set for a golden period and GWS and Gold Coast will surge up the ladder in the next few years.

So he lashes out at everyone he thinks is hurting Collingwood but hopes to disguise the attacks as equalisation debate. No club has more advantages than Collingwood but Eddie refuses to see it. His complete failure to recognise facts/distort reality in his ravings are making his ravings less effective with the real thinking powerbrokers of the AFL.

Impressed with Pridham's well thought out and measured comments against the scattergun rantings of McGuire. I really think that McGuire is losing traction at AFL House, don't think they are impressed with his media ravings and maybe they now realise they have caved into him in the past, to their detriment.

Agreed. Pridham's winning the battle here. For what it's worth, Gerard and Robbo just said we're winning the fight....

He should have said "Death to All But Metal!"

And more re Eddy from Caroline Wilson:

"Standing stony-faced at the players' race looking mutinous is one thing, addressing the players at crucial times another accepted role of a club president. But some of his morning radio deliveries and weird analogies suggest that he, and not the rest of the AFL community, requires a cup of tea and a Bex and a good lie down."

Eddie has a long history of making sexist, homophobic, ethnic and racist remarks. Here's just a reminder for those who might have forgotten:

                        Eddie Gaffes

There's a 3 strikes rule for the players. Everyone seems to be held to a certain standard both on and off the field. What about club executives? Surely Eddie has used up all his strikes by now.

The thing take annoys me the most is the short memory span Eddie and others had. In the 1990s. Shannon Grant did not want to play with the Swans because Melbourne was the footy capital and the cost of living in Sydney did not make it attractive. Included in that list is Wayne Carey, Anthony Rocca and even John Longmire himself. The end result was wooden spoons and the almost certain elimination of the Swans as football team as no one wanted to watch them lose every week. Now we are a powerhouse.... Oh no they get it too easy!!! bah! baah!

Eddie can see the slowest train wreck in history coming at him and needs to blame someone. (Tall poppy syndrome) Pies are the team you either love or hate and they have a lot of supporters that are passionate. Passion is good however, since South Melbourne moved to Sydney we have been building, and getting better. Now he can see that we are a genuine threat to the top dog place in footy folk law. We have suffered and enjoyed the good and bad times. Eddie, guess what, it's Collingwood's turn to be lower on the ladder for a while. Take a good look at their recruiting, marketing and which way they are going. I can only see one direction and it's not upwards.

We don't need to argue with them while they are imploding. Just standby and let it happen.

At the moment I like what I see as I am definitely in the anyone other than Collingwood camp.

Stick it to them and get over that we killed you off in the finals last year.

This is becoming even more nasty and childish:

"COLLINGWOOD president Eddie McGuire has questioned Andrew Pridham?s football credentials after the new Swans? chairman referred to him as ??the equivalent of Clive Palmer??.

?I?m not sure he could draw a football, let alone knows much about the competition,?? McGuire told The Daily Telegraph.

?At least in my stoushes with (former Swans chairman) Richard Colless there was a bit of cut and thrust, but this bloke (Pridham) has just turned up.

?I??ve given 17 years of unpaid service (to Collingwood) promoting the game, my club and trying to promote other clubs. I wouldn?t know this bloke if I fell over him.??

Pridham launched a scathing attack on the omnipresent McGuire claiming he ?dominated the agenda for reasons of self-interest?? and that no one dared keep him to account.

Pridham, an investment banker who had been on the Swans board for 12 years before succeeding Colless, also referred patronisingly to McGuire?s professional roles, saying: ??We all know that being a footy club president and a game show host and football commentator is a very important occupation, but it?s going a bit far when you start talking about the national interest??.
