Can't bring myself to watch him and Germie on their Sunday night show, but I heard somewhere that Sheedy was a guest.
If so, did anyone see it? Were the academies etc discussed?Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

I'm happy NOT to correct you on that fact.
He was giving out the excuses this morning on MMM, and mentioned their own finals fact as you've stated.
But went on to point out that they have done it without any handouts from the AFL.
Then included the "And no star players handed to us on a platter", which I assume was a crack at GWS, GC and the Sydney Swans.
The contrasting fortunes of Collingwood and GWS over the weekend should be noted. GWS with the longest injury list in the competition lost three of their key players (both captains) before half time, a similar scenario to Collingwood. GWS just got on with it and played out of their skins the longer the game went on. Collingwood folded meekly, sorry erase that, couldn't possibly win from that position having been so heavily impacted by injuries.
I'm toying with the idea of heading out to Homebush just to see the Giants smash them. After all a Collingwood loss is almost as pleasureable as a Swans victory. It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

Apart from putting up with the crap footage of Dermie doing his stuff from a long forgotten era, and totally irrelevent images of Sheedy playing during an even longer forgotten era, at least Sheedy was on there trying to put forward some sort of game development point of view and about how it is good for the game to have both expansion teams in the league.
Interesting it was Sheedy who raised the academies, saying to Eddie, "if you want an arguement about the academies then I'm prepared to have one" of course Eddie, knowing that he can't bully Sheeds, completely deflected it. I think he said something like, I'm not against the academies, (fell of the couch at this point) but people need to consider that the same sort of money hasn't been spent on development of the game in Vic. Drawing some sort of parallel by asking the question "when was the last footy ground to be built in Broady? they're closing them all down" which of course is utter rubbish. The point is McGuire when challenged by someone of any credibility, denies he said what he said and changes the subject completely.
Turned it off at this point. There was some Selling Houses re-run on The Lifestyle channel that was so much more enjoyable to watch.Comment

I want Eddie to continue with his various rants.
Every time he loses more and more credibility and weakens his position with the AFL
Also comes off as more and more of a whinger....The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

I rate Nathan Buckley, but I wonder if he leads the team to two seasons outside the finals whether Eddie will unravel.
If the majority of the Board want a change of Head Coach, will Eddie be able to force his will to keep Buckley?
Will the board start forming factions and acting out if Collingwood have losing seasons?
Will Eddie resign his presidency in support of Buckley?
These are the questions to ponder if Collingwood experience some losing seasons.Comment

Against my better judgement I watched it for about 20 minutes because Sheedy was going to be on it.
