I didn't hear it but I'd be interested to know what Gerard Healy's reaction was as I know he was on the panel tonight.

Liz - I agree with you because we have a place for non-Swans related footy discussion. If we didn't, the moderating would be excessive but we do, so posters should be thinking about where they post stuff. That's my two cents worth anyway. If more of us used that area more regularly, this issue wouldn't come up as often.

I have found Healy not so swans friendly this year.

So sick of that wanker and his little digs at us using his position in the media to do so. It smacks at jealousy at the highest order at where his so called powerful club is sitting at the moment and where we are which is at the top!
Eddie's reaction is predictable, but I was interested in the fact that McClure linked Ryder to Sydney. Could Ireland swoop in again.

Healy is still very swans friendly - maybe not so much on Telly, but certainly in the papers and online. He's probably just tempering it back a bit to keep all the gooses like Eddie happy.

I nearly fell off my chair tonight because Eddie actually made a positive comment about the swans. He praised our smothers in the Freo game.

Apparently Eddie also said that Hawks fans would blow up the MCG if we won the Flag.

I think they would, or at least give it a damn good go!

I love it that we are a major dusruptive force in the AFL now

Collingwood was once the most 'hated' team in the AFL.
Essendon is trying hard to out-do them (ASADA).
Swans seem to be gaining momentum in this area.

How do we feel about this Us against Them tag?

If we keep winning. Who cares!!!!!
We are no longer the poor cousin who moved to Sydney, and struggled to make ends meet.
The club has turned things around on and off the field.
We are still not a power house in the ranks of some of the Melbourne clubs, but they are all watching us a lot more closely these days.

I love it purely because it's based on jealousy. If it was because of something like ASADA it might be a different story though.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

If fact he praised Goodsey. Some lame attempt to make up with Adam. But isn't McGuire just the current days version of Graham Kennedy, the former "King of Melbourne". That he is such a big deal in Melbourne doesn't say much for the place. The guy just can't stop talking, it's embarrassing.

Eddie was at it again last night.

Talking about 'equalization' he said the fact Port and Kangaroos are in prelim. finals and are not among the richest clubs shows that it is working, and there is no need to penalize the richer clubs. (no doubt referring to Collingwood and probably Hawthorn) If clubs are run correctly they will be up with the others.
This may be so if the smaller clubs got the timeslots that Collingwood usually get. Eddie was pretty vocal when this didn't happen this season wasn't he?

Then had a dig (again) at Sydney in the form of ' holding the Premiership cup and 'cheating' the salary cap".
