Mark Allen on SEN just said that he knows for a fact that Mitchell is on more than $500,000!! Surely this can't be true?

Interesting that they never seem to quote their source or what evidence they have to support the statement.

It wouldnt suprise me if by the final year of his contract he is on that kind of money. So what. If the guy stays sound , by his fourth year he will be worth it. How many other young midfielders come into the game and straight away start averaging about 20 touches.

He is only 18 games into his career dont forget. The guys has so much upside and has shown he is at AFL level. The swans wouldnt trade him unless they had no chance of keeping him and judging by the Jed Lamb experience even then they might just leave it to the draft gods if he was out of contract.

I actually think our biggest risk might be Sam Reid. Other clubs would be saying if I cant get boyd or cameron or patton (which I find hard to believe that one of them wont have the go home factor ringing in their heads ) then Reid might be worth throwing big money at as the swans would struggle to fit him in with tippett and franklin.

Sammy is signed until the end of 2017 I believe ( or 2016, either way he's out of bounds for a while yet) , he signed a 5 year deal remember.
