My father and his mates once took 24 lemonade cans filled with beer and sealed, I believe, at the old Sharp Brothers soft drink factory out near Homebush, into the SCG for a rugby test. Back in the early 80s I think.

I travel 4 hours up and back to get each SCG game. I don't give a toss about being called a fairweather fan. But if anyone thinks that Homebush is as satisfying an AFL experience as the SCG they are nuts. Sometimes you just have to boycott the Swans to make a point to the AFL. Otherwise future generations of Swans fans will continue to be screwed along with the unthinking.

Ironically if you attend ANZ in numbers it could produce more SCG games.

The best deal the swans ever got out of the SCG trust was when they threatened to move more to ANZ.

So ANZs popularity bring the SCG trust to the bargaining table.

Again Barry I ask what level of Sydney Swans membership do you have?
Put it this way. I wouldnt be an ANZ member if it wasnt for the swans playing there.

By being a member and witnessing big games like SOO, made me realise how good ANZ could be as an AFL venue if we got a good crowd with the right attitude and a bit of passion.
I am in no way a rugby league fan.

Yay, I just had my ticket for saturday delivered. Aisle 107, row 5, seat 40. Middle of the ground near the front. In the rain but who cares?

So, let me get this straight, you're an ANZ member but not a Swans member?

Nice. Right in the middle. Had to go a cheaper option. Bay 115 but only second row from the boundary. Hopefully I can get in Ballantyne's ear if he gets one on the angle.

That would be the conclusion I would reach as well....

Pretty astonishing for someone who so freely hurls the "fair weather fan" insult.

                      Nice place to sit!

Sadly I went cheapo as I'm saving up for later in the finals, so am up near where the red zone usually is but in Cat 3 Alcohol free bay (123 i think it is). Will be ordinary seats for watching footy from, but that really is irrelevant as long as our boys get the win!

My point in asking you about your membership is that you have, quite a few times, had shots at Swans members for not being passionate enough to travel to ANZ and yet you are not passionate enough to become a Swans member and travel to the SCG. By this I'm not having a go at you, an ANZ membership suits you and your interests and it is your right to have whatever membership of whatever organization you want, but it is being hypocritical to make judgements on others when you yourself are doing virtually the same thing but the other way around.
Can I ask if, like what happened in 05 with the Geelong semi, happened this year, would you go to the SCG to watch it?

I don?t hijack threads. I think people see me as their naughty teenager and my one post is usually followed by ten slap downs. Slap downs are fine. It?s a subtle sign of deep seated affection.
Matt you certainly make me laugh, that is exactly how I view you! A painful teenager who always has to have the last word and is always right!!!!!!
