Wow, would have loved to have seen that throw. That's a huge call in the end.

Well done to Aspley. Boo to NEAFL, I get these things happen- but talk about bad timing!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Stream is up to 10 minutes in the 2nd quarter. Match started 165 minutes ago! At this rate, we will see the throw at about 11pm?

well the AFL had to prove the NEAFL works and they did by getting Aspley up with a last minute free. I bet there were hundreds of throws on the day that weren't paid.

I like a good conspiracy as much as the next guy, but it's hard to get the tinfoil hat on without having seen the game.

That said- long quarter. I wonder if it was Aspley's time keepers with the finger on the siren?

Wonder if he should not have taken that last snap for goal that turned into a point? Without seeing it can't judge fairly but perhaps he should have tried to just keep the ball in play. The kick-in gave Hornets the chance to move the ball back their end for the winning goal (courtesy of a free).

The stream has stopped and they only got up to 11 minutes in the 2nd quarter. Hopefully they put the full replay up soon

Congratulations to Aspley and commiserations to the Swans. Sounds like it was a great game to watch (apart from the ending!).

Our boys have had a very good season. It is hard to imagine that we are going to see as strong a reserves team as this year's for a long time. And congratulations to Tom for the medal - I assume that's best on ground?

Big congratulations to Coach Crouch for his achievements this season, along with his trusty offsiders, and thanks for his weekly reports back to the fans. Very much appreciated.

Thanks too to ugg, wonderful input through the season, and to all the other happy band of ressie watchers who give the rest of us feedback. It's the next best thing to being there, beating the feed by a considerable margin.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I personally don't like the fact that the NEAFL is rigged. For a start we don't play any Queensland teams except AFL reserves teams. Then when we do play NSW/ACT teams then we have to fall back to 14-15 listed players. If this competition is to survive that has to change. The competition must be won on merit not on rigging it so the AFL reserves teams have very little chance of Premiership success. Our boys did extremely well under great duress. Firstly only playing with 3/4 of a list. Secondly having to travel to Aspley's home ground for a GF. Why couldn't it be played at a neutral ground? There are too many concessions made to the home grown NEAFL teams. If the competition is to survive then it should survive by these sides competing at a higher level not competing against teams that aren't at full strength. Aspley have recruited very well and I would have automatically had them favourites for today's match. It was played on their own dunghill, with a very strong ex-AFL player line up with some of the best players from other old NEAFL clubs.

The local clubs should be made to compete on an equal level to improve the competition. Make them recruit top players, develop their local area and improve their teams. This is the only way the NEAFL will prosper. At the moment the situation where we don't play the Queensland local NEAFL teams and the Queensland AFL Reserves sides don't play NSW/ACT sides is ridiculous. NT has to play us and the other three reserves sides without any concessions so why not the rest. It is an not a level playing field. The competition will be crap until the other sides come up to the standard of sides like Aspley, Redlands and Territory Thunder. The only way to induce sides to improve is to take away their concessions.

Congratulations to Aspley but I wonder if we would be saying that if we were allowed a full side.
