hear hear. I am loving the speculation. Just like all the half-time conversations at the game.Comment

Then I wonder if we should not play Mal again - if it's likely he'll leave? Especially if he's talked to the Hawks and we play them in the GF?
Maybe it'd be better to play Mitchell so we can get more for him as a trade?Comment

If Malceski wins the Norm Smith, he will get more money and a longer contract from an opposition club. A bigger and longer contract will be better for the Swans Free Agency Compensation arrangement. It will also allow Malceski a better opportunity for his financial future.
Malceski playing the next two games could be the biggest win /win scenario in 2014.
Micthell?s trade value has been tickled upwards by his games against St Kilda and Richmond. He is young, so a couple more games won?t alter his trade value if a deal has to be done.Comment

i dont agree this thread should be locked .......except a few posters trying to hi-jack it away from what it should be ie rumours on trades etc !!!!
I dont think there is a fair and reasonable basis to do that......... but if the moderators of this public forum do think that it should be a lock, I would like to know the justification ???
I think the fair and reasonable action by those not interested in trade talk and rumours is to not pop into this thread which is clearly marked on what subject it is.
THE PLAYER MOVEMENT RUMOURS ARE RIFE !
I meant for the posters to put it on ice until the end of OUR season.
It seems to be gaining more momentum than our next game, but then that is 2 weeks away!!!!Comment

think the Swans will take the flag that Malceski can help them win.

And think what we could get for Luke Parker as a Premiership player. Parker and our R1 pick for Priddis?Comment

Mitchell is contracted to the end of 2016. Space is likely to open up in the midfield group next year with Goodes retiring (and he should absolutely retire in my opinion) which gives us the opportunity to rotate Parker, Jack or McGlynn as crumbing small forward options - one area which I think we need to develop.
If Malceski moves on then McVeigh moving to half back opens up even more positions in the midfield group.
For mine, a fit and healthy Tom Mitchell is a dead certainty for our best 22 next season.Comment

Plus he is already a Premiership player

No deal. There are a number of other players, both senior and fringe, the club would rather trade than Tom. He is our future.
And Matt80, save your lengthy response to this one thanks - we know your thoughts on this already.Comment

His value to us also increases with each game he plays.

So keep Towers and trade Mitchell for Poles (Podsiadly?) and wires (Stringer?).Comment

Trade Parker? This guy is 21 and the way he's going he will be a new Scott Pendlebury/Joel Selwood in a few years.
I'd be thinking about giving him a very long, very lucrative contact.
Mitchell has been a bit unlucky this year with injury, and it's very hard to get into a side like ours that basically wins every
week and already has an All Australian midfield. He is a keeper for sure.

Whoa, finals delirium has taken hold. Mitchell (Tom) and Parker are not going anywhere, any time. You can build a premiership team around them and I'm sure we will. The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

Trade Luke Parker? Over my dead body!! He is one player who is definitely heading towards star status.
As much as I love Goodesy, I too concede that this year should be his last, especially if we win the GF. It was interesting to hear Luke Ball say that when Collingwood decided not to offer him another year he was disappointed and felt he had the desire and was physically able to go on. Then his last game, v the Hawks, showed him it had been the right decision not to go on.Comment
