Could be a problem if all 35 go before our pick 37 ...

Moore, Heeney and Steele are not on the list of 35, so we have the 34th live pick, so we still may have 2 players left to choose from. Now, suppose one of the remaining 2 is Petracca ............................ and we take the other guy ...................... then someone on here ain't gonna be happy.

That won't happen. For evidence see Luke Parker, Alex Johnson, Adam Goodes etc.

Off the top of my head, Darcy Moore and Isaac Heeney have both been pre-selected ahead of pick 37, meaning there are no more than 35 live picks before our 37.

As someone already mentioned there's also Steele commited for GWS at pick 24, so it's a mathematical impossibility that our top 35 are all taken before our live pick - not that it was likely anyway.

What about if by some fluke another one of our 35 was still there when our pick 57(ish) came up? Would we take him or pass? A bit like having pick 35.

No space on the list/cap I believe so will not happen

With the limited 'live' trades that we will have in the next couple of years and an inability to move up the order to access a highly rated KPD, only reinforces a prediction of mine. That Alex Rance will be a Bondi resident in 2016. IMO there is no way the swans will risk an ageing defence on unproven kids and rookies. So whether it is through an overturning of our free agent trading ban, or we trade anyway and end our Cola 'phase out' early or with an agreed player swap with Richmond (Sam Reid), I believe Alex Rance will most likely be wearing the Red & White in 2016. Personally I would love to see it. And I'm sure Buddy will be thrilled to.

No way we would even contemplate swapping Reid for Rance. What's your next suggestion, we swap Buddy for Vickery?
Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.

Rance has a lot more runs on the board than Reid. Reid potentially could be better yes, but if that trade happened tomorrow we would be the winners.

Just what we want. Another midfielder.

Really!!! You wouldn't swap Rsnce, the current All Australian CHB, for Reid, a player who 'might' make a good defender. I would do that trade any day of the week.

It would be a great trade for the Swans, but Richmond would not do it. The level of play that Rance displayed in both games against the Swans in 2014 was better than anything Reid has ever produced.

Reid would need to go from a "moments" player to a consistent four quarter, 20 plus game a season player to be in contention for a Rance Trade.

His 3rd quarter against the Gold Coast and his game against Carlton (SCG) were promising, but needs to be replicated over a whole season.

Both Reid brothers seem not to have the physical resilience off a Lance Franklin. Calf, Quad or Hamstring strains keep them out for longer periods than other players. Look at Sam in 2013 and Ben in 2014. This is the major concern for Sam Reid.
