I suspect, once Richard Colless joined the SCG, and fair bidding process for hosting Swans games by ANZ was lost.
The fact that they concocted a "members survey" to determine the ground, instead of strategic , economic rationality, implies more propaganda than substance.

Andrew Pridham asked Swans fans on Twitter what their thoughts were on the stadiums, which they preferred. They also have an end of year survey for members which asks about match day attendance, feedback on member services, etc so it's definitely not bull@@@@@@.

All weve heard is some motherhood statements about it being "almost as good as some other deals".

Details of the new contract have not been make public, and even the most ordinary of spin-doctors from within the swans would have been able to leak a few winners.... if there are any.

The 'winners' are the club and the team, our team, who prefer playing at the SCG, who play better at the SCG, and who love the far better atmosphere of the SCG, with it's far superior and safer playing surface. Who gives a **** what the financial and legal dealings/ramifications are? Bottom line is; We, the fans of the Swans are happy. .......Well most anyway.

Barry if you love corporation stadium soo much then I have an idea. Every swans game at the SCG you and your corporate entourage can go sit in the corporate box at corporation bankers stadium with your dell 13 inch lappy and watch the game in peace. If you want to emulate and experience the empty soulless feel of bankers stadium on match day, you can by opening the window and getting some people to cheer so it echoes.

You actually need to be a member to get the end of year survey, so that would explain why Barry seems to think it was 'concocted'.

Let's see. You're a Rhodes scholar and you've just forked out a bucket load of Pacific pesos for a concrete monster that encircles a patch of sand; what'll I do with it?
It's not really suited to rectangular sports even in rectangular mode unless it's a high drawing event. What are the crowd drawing sports events in NSW? certainly not H/A NRL or AL or SL. It is an oval and we do have an AFL side in town. It would be derelict not to approach all possible tenants. There is no law against approaching the Swans. There is no AFL stadium poaching law - in fact it's probably encouraged.

Barry I totally agree with every point you have made here, but I think if Galaxy had included in their survey (and I really have no idea if they did but I'm assuming either they didn't or the result did not suit your argument) do you enjoy watching Australian Rules Football at Stadium Australia, 99.9% of Sydneysiders would have said no.

I really enjoy the T20 and concerts I have been to at the stadium and I live an equal distance to both venues so I am not an anti Stadium Oz person per se, I just don't think it suits AFL.

I hope the GWS do well and fill ANZ but I think you don't understand sarcasm or haven't read what I've said.
I have been both a South's and Swans's supporter from inception and NEVER missed a game whilst I lived in Sydney
