Homebush Bay has incredible upside and could well have the same gravitas as Moore Park in 30-40 years? time. People seem to forget that the suburb of Paddington was known as a dive in the 1940s. It?s now one of the most sought after suburbs in Sydney.

Development and momentum are continuing to grow in Homebush Bay. It?s on the rise and the Swans should take advantage of that. It?s the geographical capital of Sydney with huge developing fan markets.

Premier Baird has also outlined plans for huge residential developments along Parramatta Road. This will bring many more citizens into the Homebush area.

I?m not happy to surrender the majority of the Sydney market to GWS. Sure the Swans have history, but a couple of down years for the Swans and a couple of great years for GWS, could swing the majority of these Western Suburbs fans to GWS.

This is what Barry is saying and his strategy is spot on.

AnnieH, I?ve never been called boring. You need to calm down.
      Definitely boring.
I live in the Homebush area... it's full of non-English speaking Asians who have no real interest in the football.
Everyone who is interested, is already there.
      You should come and visit.

When the SCG contract runs out in 30 years time, we'll talk about moving to Homebush again. (That fits into your timeframe doesn't it?)
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I've worked in the Homebush area, and I concur with your demographic analysis of the area. Those Asian family's will have Australian born children who will grow up to enjoy traditional Australian sports. Cricket has a stranglehold of the area amongst the Indian and Sri Lankan communities, but there is potential for the AFL amongst these communities.

With the Swans vacating Homebush the only option will be GWS.

We need to maintain a presence in the Western Suburbs otherwise we are not accessing new population growth markets. We could miss the Western Suburbs boat, which could cost our bottom line in years to come!

People who insist on shoving their sophomoric political opinions down others' throats despite repeated pleas to desist are in no position to lecture others on manners. Now just freaking stop. This is a football forum.

I find the easiest way is not to respond. At all.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Ignore function is useless if people continue to quote the poster on your ignore list

                        Here we go again.
With the amount of posters leaving or not posting RWO is becoming a very lonely and boring place.
                        Will be Matt80's sandpit soon.

It is sad how a few posters who say such angry, hateful and derogatory stuff has made it thoroughly unenjoyable for so many of us

And isn't that sad Scott. That one person so in love with his own opinions can seize everyone else's agenda to the stage where people just give up and walk away. Maybe mods might review the standards which used to be appropriate. Just as the law has had to adapt to digital change, maybe we need to just use expulsion. Drastic , perhaps even unfair , but the greater good etc etc. Matt, I will not indulge in any discussion on this. It only encourages your ramblings.

I'm not exactly sticking up for Matt here, the corporate adoration is painful to say the least, but its Barry's maniacal devotion to Stadium Australia and his insane anti Swans ramblings as a result of the clubs announcement re not playing there in the future that sent this whole thread down the toilet, so maybe some of Barry's ramblings should be a bit more closely monitored.

Mods how about you just lock the thread?
