I haven't found anything but I'd say they are waiting for more details...Tom is normally pretty good with his inside information though. Not one to just make up stuff for some airtime i.e Barrett

The need for 'more info' may take a while and could end up pushing the changes back to the 2016 draft...that would be a massive win for us.Twitter @cmdil

The fact both Queensland clubs are winless and struggling, and have poor attendance and membership at present, may also be of some help,
even if just in the back of the commissioners minds.
It shows how quickly fans in the Northern States switch off when their AFL clubs are performing badly....They can turn back to NRL or Union..
Right now the Bronco's look enticing to all but the rusted on Lions fans.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

I think there needs to be less focus on the size of the discounts to be applied and more on the actual shape of the curve they have derived from a very small number of data points at the very pointy end of the draft (and where it seems that anomalies that don't fit the story they have dreamt up to be supported by the curve have been "explained away"). It seems that this curve has just been accepted as "fact", when in reality in seems to significantly overstate the variance in the value of picks as you move down the draft order.Comment

Rumours abound about Melbourne clubs going after Dylan Shiel and Adam Treloar from GWS. This is the main reason we need the academies. Clubs from traditional AFL states are constantly raiding the northern clubs for their best players. It's hard to support a club when your favourite players one year are playing for another club the next year.
The Swans, now being a successful club, have overcome this problem. The academy system is also much further advanced, so is producing a good stream of players. Perhaps this is the time for the AFL to offer the option the Swans had once proposed, i.e. that academy clubs can forego the National draft and can directly sign academy and FS players. This is probably not solution a for the other 3 academy clubs at this stage.
The Swans could also participate in the PSD and rookie drafts. Players not signed prior to the national draft would be eligible for other clubs to select at the national draft.
This system would ensure the long-term financial support for the academies and virtually guarantee the growth of the game in Sydney and hopefully in the other northern regions once this plan is extended to the other clubs.Comment

There are going to be rumours about sharks circling for the GWS gun players every year. They've reached a point now though where they can pick and choose which of their top players they keep. They've already started trading a few away and their list has become more balanced for it. I'd be VERY surprised if Shiel or Treloar went anywhere.Today's a draft of your epitaphComment

Further to my last post, Treloar was asked about the rumours when he got to Perth and he essentially said that they were complete rubbish and that he is very happy where he is. Sorry for the slightly off topic post.Today's a draft of your epitaphComment

It affects the number of 'points' our first round pick is worth...so in theory the lower we finish the less points we will need to make up'Twitter @cmdil

Too early to talk about 'tanking' (remember Melb didn't tank, but got fined anyhow) but later in the season maybe, although we would have a lot of work to do to get below Brisbane at this point.Comment
