why don't you just draw an even longer bow and say 20,000 members too busy at Reclaim Australia rallies? Keep in mind 8-10k members are interstate, some people might actually be with their families on the Easter weekend instead of linking it to the drugs scandal? I'm sorry, your post is pitiful. Your western Sydney and Swans apparent abandonment of it agenda is tiresome.

I wasn't aware of any boycott. Why would Swans fans want to boycott a home game? That is penalising the Swans and not the Bombers.

I have no problem with booing Hird after his behaviour and lack of responsibility for the whole situation. I'm glad that the players weren't booed...well I couldn't hear any on the tv.

Well I successfully avoided seeing the score until I got home from my other engagement. I watched the game after midnight and for most of it was regretting I was staying up but 2.30 am was a sweet moment when witnessed the come from behind classic.

Harden up for next week boys. I'm coming to adelaide and want to see more commitment and better skills

The players weren't booed, just Hird. Hurley copped it but for that ridiculous haircut, nothing to do with the ASADA case.

Chamberlain was rightly panned for a couple of decisions, especially the deliberate OOB on Smith, but overall he was actually pretty fair, with a couple of poor calls to each team, which I think you can accept. One of the other umpires, 26 I think, was far worse.

Why are all the media saying we were 40 points down? We were actually 41 points down. At the 8.15 mark of the 3rd qtr after that snap from Cooney the score was 19 - 60.

It's harder to play well in a side that is playing badly due to the rotten impact your mates are having on play. He was our best and he did it when the chips are down and that proves the quality of the young man.

By the way I thought Lloydy kick started the fight back. Lloydy has must say to himself a million times a day 'Get ball, look for options, use ball well.' He certainly knows how to get ball and use it well and he proved it could be done to the other lads. He also protects the player with the ball by shepherding which was lacking yesterday until he came on. Roos never believed shepherding was a great skill and reckoned if you were shepherding you weren't there to provide an option. I think his thinking in today's game especially is flawed. I wonder if he has changed his mind. Anyway that is why most of our older players either don't or rarely shepherd. Players like Smithy and Birdy do. But not yesterday for the most part.

On Adam Goodes. I was astounded that Horse played him in the centre square as mid. He was exposed pretty badly by their mids as most of them are very quick. At one stage they had Watson, Zaharakis(I think) and Heppell and we had Goodes, Parker & Kennedy so we were totally mismatched for pace. To say that horse was worried about Tom Mitchell being too slow then he should have a look at Goodes and Mitchell was not any slower than those three. Nothing worked for Adam yesterday and he even gave a Handball to Lukie and watched as he was about to be tackled without even opening his mouth to say 'you're hot'. Not good team play. too many players just getting a kick for most part yesterday. Goodsie wasn't one of those because his stats tell me he had very few, 9 at 44%. Pretty bad for an ex-champion. time to hang up the boots Adam. Lloydy had 13 at 46%, I think the % is flawed, and only played 1.25 quarters.

In a week where NRL fans are being slammed for assaulting a referee, we should be treating the umpires with more respect.

AFL fans should be thought of differently to the barbarian NRL fans. We should be offering a 100% polite, family friendly environment so we can attract the polite good family followers of the NRL, who are disgusted by the barbarian crowds antics.
Hear, hear! The AFL should arrange for a guard of honour, containing equal numbers of fans from both teams, IN their club colours, to clap the umps off after each game.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Some strange calls yesterday... the free kick count ended up 25-24 in Essendon's favour. Feel that is far too many on a wet day. "Razor Ray" living up to his nickname.

Why is it every time we play in the wet we persist with short / cute kicks which generally miss their mark and over possess with handballs to players under pressure ? Surely one of the 10 coaches we seem to have can suggest it might be wise to kick it long to the two best fwds in the comp. my rant complete !

                            This.

Delivery to Buddy was deplorable for three quarters yesterday, we were trying to pin-point the passes to his lead. Just bomb the bloody thing in there!

They tried what Hawks were doing for the past years with a great success. I still remember how everybody was complaining about the bombing in the forward line where our forwards were so successfully manned by multiple defenders. Pinpoint is a go, but you need skill for that. And, that my friend, is the core of our problem.

Booing hird was a highlight for me. Him, his club, and the AFL are a disgrace.
