The design and symbols are explained in the link below. The Carlton indigenous players interviewed were proud of the design. It is quite lovely up close but was difficult/impossible to see from behind the boundary fence.

My mistake. But I did check before I posted, by looking at the largest TV images that I could find of their jumpers and I really couldn't see any design there.

Be careful, they might ask you for a Mars bar! Much easier to see their logo than the indigenous symbols.

I have loved the indigenous jumpers in the last two years. GWS had a particularly striking design this year.
The indigenous players in each club seem to be very proud of them. As an example, I read that Chad Wingard became quite emotional in addressing the Port players about the Port indigenous guernsey. This year their jumper was designed by Wingard's grandmother.

I thought about wearing it (because I love it), but then decided not to so I can keep it semi-pristine.

Yes I saw a woman wearing the Swans' one last Friday night and so had a good look up close. The women's version with capped sleeves and a small v-neck is very attractive particularly worn with blue jeans. And it makes a conversation piece with the stories behind to the symbols.

Martin Flanagan's article in today's age is quite good, meets the debate somewhere in the middle and recognises that the issues isn't as black and white as those on both sides of the debate try to make it. Can't find the article online so no link unfortunately. Here's a snippet " I do not criticise Goodes for making a statement of aboriginal pride. I do criticise people on both sides of the debate who responded superficially to what he did. It wasn't a waltz step he performed, it wasn't a samba. It was a war dance and, traditionally , war dances invite a response".
