His long punches last season were wonderful and broke several games open through runners getting onto the ball and kicking goals or hitting players up who did kick goals. This season he has been pretty insipid.
Its because opposition players know we are bad and get to the footy first. It seems as if our minds at centre bounces are in slow motion.

We are second to the ball nearly every time in centre clearances.

This quarter is pathetic. I predicted it as we had such a big match last week. But quite frankly I would have preferred if we tried Big Sammy against this mob. Pyke is crap as a tap ruckman.

Always love a win but our clearance work has been absolutely pathetic against a team without their 3 best mids! Thank christ for buddy!

And in saying that, I always thought of Mitchell as a clearance machine but I've been watching him quite closely tonight and he's been well beaten by Cripps in the contested balls. Hopefully it's just a down night but it has me worried. Agree with others re: Pyke's tap work.

Look at the score!!!!!! Sure it's been scrappy but you blokes are very hard to please. We've won isn't that good enough????
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

What a thoroughly crap last quarter.....oh, yey Tippett! Yeah we'll win, but this standard won't win a GF. I know we beat a contender last week, but our skill level needs to step up big time.

Sorry, Wardy, but when you play a bottom side it gives an opportunity to build a % that will be need at the end of the season. This was an opportunity that went begging.

I have big questions about Brandon Jack getting a go in game like this. I dont think that he will ever be good enough to play AFL standard.

Carlton were always going to step it up due to what happened this week- every team who has some kind of upheaval prior to playing us puts in extra(and we have lost as a result) this was a game that I never took for granted a we won by 60 points. Geez just enjoy a win!

Enjoyed the win to a degree but agree or clearance work was pathetic. How can we get beaten by carltons midfield with Mitchell, Kennedy and Parker at the bounce but happened repeatedly. Pyke two dodgy games in a row. Looking really slow.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Wasn't exactly clinical . Was mystified by Tippet being clearly outplayed most of the evening.

Just ok against the bottom side. We should have murdered them by at least 100. But we played Hawks last week and I think we expended a lot of energy and emotion on that contest.

Rhyce Shaw tonight has to be highlighted as a player who is on the wane. His disposal was terrible and he seemed not to know what to do. His decision making was dreadful. He was also beaten by his opponents and they did score goals again. His running drive is no good if his disposal is ordinary and his decision making is questionable. That decision to tap the ball toward the Carlton goal was terrible, as a defender you NEVER tap the ball toward the opposition goal. NEVER!!!!! Benny aftarward gestured to him to pick the ball up an handball it!

In all we take the win but we were lethargic. Robbo was a good debut for three quarters but ran out of puff in the last. BJ was crap when he came on. Please don't play him again. There are better options in the Twos in Hewett, Marsh, Birdie.
