We are currently caravanning around Australia and not watching as many footy shows as usual, though we do have satellite. When we dish up a dismal performance, I am happy I don't have to listen to 'experts' such as Wayne Carey or Luke Darcy crapping on. I make sure we can watch the games, though usually I can't listen to alternative audio when Channel 7 or Foxtel commentators are barracking for our opposition. I thought they did this because they were barracking for the underdog, however I note they are not like this for Hawks or Cats games. Is is too much to ask for intelligent commentary?

I agree with this completely...not sure why this particular performance has meant so much but it was really gutting.Twitter @cmdil

There's no way we will lose Thursday night, with or without Bud and Tip.Twitter @cmdil

Against the Cats which we won (110 pts).
25/04/2013 (Anzac) against the Saints in Welllington which we won.
Last time we lost on a Thursday was in 1991 against Nth at the MCG.
That is the only 3 Thursday games as Sydney.
3 others as South (2L, 1W).Comment

Can't really see the logic. Thought Buddy was 2-3 and Tip free to play.He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

Nipper Gordon was lucky his incident was on Jack & not Hanners! If it was in Dan, Hanners would have been stretchered off in writing agony, assessed for concussion taped up like King Tut & then miraculously returned for a 3 vote performance (but the Swans medical report for Hanners' time off the ground would've had Nipper enjoying a week off).
Buddy was unlucky that it wasn't someone like Kizza, instead it was Shane "paper m?ch?" Edwards ... good enough to take the kick & return to the ground before his concussion sub had actually expired ... but still had to go off for a cup of tea & chat with the Doc ... just enough time to get Buddy in trouble.Comment

I'm sorry. I've tried to cover my shame but I have to confess. I'm the reason we lost on Friday night.
You see, when we won in 2005 I bought every bit of memorabilia going - right down to one of those bottle openers that plays "cheer cheer" for each bottle. And, of course, I have a "2005 Premiers" scarf. In 2006 I wore it to three games and we lost each one. So I stopped wearing it and we went back to winning.
Friday was the 10th anniversary of THE FLAG so I dug out my 2005 membership cap - and the bloody Premiers scarf. I dithered but thought "Nah, that's just superstition. And it was a decade ago anyway." During the first half I was comfortably warm in the scarf and the inner glow of an almost certain win. By the end of the game the scarf was hiding under my jacket in shame and there was a chill all over the ground. I think the scarf even may have tried to trip Nick during his shot in a goalwards direction. It's back in the closet again now, never to reappear on game day.
My apologies.Comment
