Well either go out in straight sets due to injuries or well win the flag on the back of doing it for goodes and buddy.
Despite injuries, or form over the last month is impressive
I think it's been telling that there was not a Bondi Beach story surrounding Buddy over the recent off-season. Did he stop going to the beach? Did he stop going to his beloved night clubs?
In the 2013-14 offseason we had the party Buddy at his best with the following stories:
- Buddy at the Beach Road bikini competition.
- Buddy at the beach with Adam Ashley Cooper.
- Buddy on a boat and partying hard at Garden Island.
- Buddy hanging with Hanners who damaged his car.
- Buddy at the at the Beach with Tom D and some female friends.
These off field headlines led to a brilliant 2014 playing season.
There has been no Beach stories with Buddy during the 2014-15 summer.
Has he lose his zest for the Sun the Surf and partying hard with his mates?
Is the quieter off-field headlines indicative of a man who is feeling very down at the moment?
Nah... last summer the weather was crap.
No one went to the beach.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun. Blessedare the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
Not only do we need a fully fit Buddy, the AFL does too.
Get well big man.
I want to wish everyone in the country (1/5 people) with mental health concerns all the best for their recovery. We need to support everyone going through mental health concerns.
99.99% of people who suffer from mental health concerns don't possess the resources of Buddy and a proeffesional football club to deal with these issues. This point should not be overlooked.
Let's get behind everyone we know suffering these concerns.
I try to find a positive out of every situation. To me how Buddy's illness is handled by the Club and how the whole team (players and staff) see this has an affect on the culture that can run deep. It is no different to how the team felt about Gary Rohan or the journey of Alex Johnson. Teams win matches and if you have a close bonded team they will win more matches then you loss.
I hope Buddy can be in the right frame of mind to understand that his own well being is No.1 and allow those around him to help where they can. If he can do this then in the future (when ever) he will have the ability to "repay" himself, the Club and fans. In the mean time most of us have become a little wiser.

Very well said.

There is an article in the Herald Sun's entertainment section about Buddy's impending marriage: No Cookies | Herald Sun
Even though it's a typical trash article you find about these things, it still shows that there is some conversation around the effect of the mental illness problem on Buddy's contract.
This paragraph brings up a point mentioned earlier in connection with Buddy's contract:
10: Because Franklin?s career and earning power is less certain than it was a month ago. With Swans bosses looking closely at Franklin?s nine-year contract ? he didn?t reveal his epilepsy to them when he signed which may trigger a contract breach ? who?s to say Franklin will still be earning a million dollars in year in three years time? The couple?s wedding is expected to be a lavish and glamorous affair that will cost six figures.
Ps to above, this is not responding to the point Ludwig brought up about Franklin's contract but to the whole of the article which says Jesinta and Buddy should postpone their wedding in light of Buddy's illness. Which is nobody's business but theirs.
According to Michelangelo Rucci in today's Adelaide Advertiser "DESPITE the AFL urging the Hawks to match the deal that stopped "Buddy" going to the league's new franchise at Greater Weatern Sydney, Hawthorn simply could not match the Swans' deal - million across nine seasons"
Either that flog of a journo got it wrong, or the AFL was trying to manipulate a trade.

Provided he stays fit the number won't be an issue, we took a calculated gamble on the salary cap movement after this TV Deal, I mean when you have a midfielder in Dangerfield allegedly being offered well over $1M by Melbourne clubs then you know the cap will increase massively.
But this could set us back big time for the next 4-5 years - if it does we'll just need to take our medicine and ride it out....
What a truly vile article. Annette Sharp- may the Karma bus get you when you least expect it.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................
