Adam is back in the news again, this time due to anti-racism stance by Kevin Rudd: Kevin Rudd's brutal slapdown of Australians who don't think we have a racism problem

I'm not at all a fan of Kevin Rudd, but do agree with him on this occasion. But it does show that racism is not a political issue when even a conservative like Rudd comes out in support of Adam Goodes.

There's an 'I Stand With Adam" celeb video included with the article. I can't recall if this is new material or not. It highlights just how important Adam has been to the conversation of who we are as Australians.

I was just about to post the same thing, not often I agree with what comes out of KRudd's mouth but have to agree with him here

+2, but his attitudes in this area have always been sound. He did after all deliver The Apology, one of his first achievements after taking office.
It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to thank and farewell Adam Goodes on Saturday (and Mike Pyke). Though I might have to take a box of tissues I suspect. I hope the SCG is roaring.

I was o/s last year when the Swans played that momentous match against the Crows but followed the emotional tributes to Adam through RWO. I hope many still have their No. 37 t-shirts (so generously supplied by KTigers) and will wear them again on Saturday.

Indeed. I made sure I laundered mine last weekend so it's fresh and available for Saturday's game. I just hope it turns out to be t-shirt weather (which is looking doubtful at the moment).

If necessary wear it over the top of a sweater (if your t-shirt is big enough).

Lovely interview with Goodes has been posted on Swans' site. Adam looks and sounds very happy and relaxed!

I wandered down to Flags Fantastic at Stanmore at lunchtime to snag some Aboriginal flags and some Canadian flags for our group of six. I will be resplendent in my Indigenous Round jumper designed by Goodesy's mum. And while I revere Adam, we should remember that Saturday is also about the great Mike Pyke. His story is just yet another fine tale in this rich tapestry of Sydney / South Melbourne folk lore.

That would involve purchasing an Australian flag. Can't have that on RWO.

Think you mean a Cronulla cape.

It was a lovely walk around. Taken at their own pace, even the GWS mob cheering, very very good indeed.

Not a complaint as such, but weren't there meant to be fireworks? The great man doesn't need fireworks, of course, and I liked the relatively low key staging of the two of them walking around together.

Too many children I'd say liz, on the ground, and Pykeys too. Would have lost the moments of the crowd sound too . Common sense prevailed.

The AFL acts in timely way for once:

AFL demands Facebook take down Adam Goodes-Harambe racist memes
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
