May I suggest that we have a running tally every week, like the AFLCA best player award. This should keep the interest up in the voting.
Excellent idea Ludwig, as long as it isn't too big an ask for the admins.

We have hit 26 with the addition of Shippo and Nico (not a duo even though it sounds that way).

So, the Troy Luff Medal survives

I'll create a sticky at the top of the page for voting and will transfer this thread over shortly. Thanks everyone for getting on board.

Hi Dan will you also take up any of the suggestions made in this thread?

Absolutely will. We'll definitely show a top five (but without revealing the actual order, each week. here are the suggestions so far:

                Ludwig
The count gets eclipsed by the Bob Skilton medal and the Brownlow, so by the time the TLM count comes around it doesn't hold much interest for me. May I suggest that we have a running tally every week, like the AFLCA best player award. This should keep the interest up in the voting.

Result needs to be known immediately after the Swans' season is over.

                Danzar
Top five leaderboard published each week, but the order of the top five is not shown. What you will see are changes in who is in the top five, as players move in and out throughout the season depending on votes.

                Rouguswan
Publish the top whatever by guernsey number and maybe include the spread of votes too, like Liz did in the countdown. "11 players got votes this week".
And may the leaderboard doesn't get updated until at least 25 votes are received??

                Meg
Also, have a footer on the 'time to vote' post each week which explains what the TLM is, whom it is named after, and how to vote. Try to encourage brand new voters. I was reading RWO for a couple of years before I understood what the mysterious 'TLM' was.

All of these can be accommodated, with Ludwig's suggestion of a running tally modified to the 'top five' format for simplicity (and a bit of suspense on not completely knowing who is in front).

Can I suggest you cast your vote for round 1 here: RWO - RedAndWhiteOnline.com. I'll get the sticky sorted over the weekend and set up the new platform so to speak.

Thanks Dan, I think those changes will make the tally more interesting. I will also vote but I won't be able to do so every round.

I didn't see Tom D's name on list, so must be a technical error. I voted anyway, but let's clear this up for next week. We need to recognize the contribution players make by NOT being in the senior side. This is greatly underestimated IMO.

Ohh, I can't help thinking that this is a slippery slope to the drug testing of mascots.

                                Also voted.

Impressed with the handling of this, appreciative of the effort being put in, and looking forward to watching the vote unfold over the year.
