Im not "neggers". I've spent years defending the scapegoats (lrt through to towers) on this forum.

    Its true about woewoeful.

Great to see Ted turn back the clock. Papley had a good game but the highlight for me was a breakout games from Hewett, he must be miles ahead of Towers now.

Re Laidler it has to be Jones, I saw AA play today and he is so far off AFL standard it isn't funny.
What about Abe Davis to play Laidlers role. Similar height, playing well in the reserves and very versatile. Could play in defence as well as other parts of the ground.

He pretty much plays up forward, he didn't stand out at Drummoyne today. For mine Jones has really not done much wrong and I don't like the idea of giving away games especially when Jones has really earned his spot.

If Jones was not available I think you'd have to give Towers another spot because he was probably the best of a reasonably quiet bunch at Drummoyne. They didn't play badly as such but nobody apart from maybe Toby out his hand up and said they deserved to be picked.

TLM is going to be tough this week.. Some were saying we shouldn't have Benny and Papley in the same team. I loved having a 2 little angry men out there today.. I don't know if it was just that the conditions were right to play both though.. If Jones comes in next week, then we will have 3 little angry men :-)

McGlynn has been massively sold short by many on here, myself included. He just adds so much and he is deadly with clutch goals when we need them, that one today from outside the 50 was crucial. His mongrel and experience really complements the young brigade.

Speaking of our young players, what a remarkable list rebuild we have seen over on summer, from one of the oldest senior sides to one of the youngest.

I felt at the start of the season we needed to uncover at least one unheralded diamond in the rough and have a good half a dozen mid tier players improve.

Papley has been the roughie and what a find. And on the improvers, how much have Lloyd and Robbo improved? Lloyd is very underrated and Robbo has a bit of class while still working hard. Other improvers are Hewett (massive plus), Harry and Heeney and I'd also throw in Rampe who has taken his game to a new level.

Jones could still come good and Towers and BJ seem disappointing but it is a long season

I'd like to see one more debutant this year if they've earnt it but overall it's been a remarkable start to the season by a team that many were predicting would miss the 8, how foolish that looks now....

I'd really like to see Rose get a game, sort of as part of this new wave of newbies, however there is just not a spot for him. Heeney, Mills and Papley seem to have nailed down a place for themselves while Robbo, Hewett and Towers, along with Jones have done the hard yards ahead of him. Maybe Rosie will just have to be patient but I would still like to see get an opportunity to show what he has to offer.

Thanks, liz. I keep forgetting Marsh is a rookie these days. So, yes, if Laidler doesn't come up for next week it will surely be Jones.

I would like to see McVeigh and Cunningham swap roles.

Cunningham looked good as a small defender. He can lock down, provide run and is a good kick.

McVeigh with his classy finishing (seen twice in the 3rd quarter) would be very dangerous as a half forward.

Great to see Jetta seal the game for us

                    McVeigh was great today.
McGlynn was OK - he's always going to show pace and drive in each game, the question is if he can make it consistent.
Richards was never in doubt for me. He has shown over and over that he can come back from a poor game..
Papley seemed a man on a mission.

One rotation down for most of the game, so we showed some real stamina, especially after last weeks draining game.

Love that the players who were poor last week stood up today. McGun, Paps and Teddy were all awesome. Glad they persevered with Papley. He played a blinder today.

That small ground is wider than any other ground in the comp and it is is only 8 m shorter at either end than the MCG. So "vis-a-vis" may we continue our 22-3 dominance.

Great crowd for a wet long weekend.

Even though he didn't get much of it, I thought Heeney was important to the win and got involved in the contest at critical times.

We haven't been good in the wet for a while but the rain played against their tall marking forward line.

Credit to McGlynn too. His attack in the ball for his intercept mark in the corridor was completely manic, but he was cool with his disposal too. The kick to Hewitt in the goal square was perfect.

That 4th qtr miss was vintage Jetta. Enjoyed his play so much in 2012, but after that he just went missing too often.

Quality win after being tested early. This midfield group just keeps giving and giving - can they keep it up all season?

What a treat to see Teddy have a day out! Reg and the entire back 6 had a great day against good quality competition. Got to be happy with this start, should be 6 & 1 by round 7.

the ground was actually lengthened 5 metres in the latest revamp Graeme. It is now only 4.5 metres shorter than the 'G'. It isn't the widest in the AFL, even the 'G' is wider at 141 compares to 138 for SCG. In cricket mode it is wider than the 'G' by 1 metre but in AFL mode no. The 50 metre arcs are 50 metres. This is the page to look at from the Trust site.

Guys, its still a small ground where speed is less of a factor. To petrend otherwise it's folly.
